Yes, definitely need to be harder than you normally get, and more importantly be able to maintain the hardness right through the process of getting it in if the girl is not experienced. Yeah you can try a silicone plug, they can make them a little softer in texture but don't be so sure about it, some are just as hard as metal or glass ones. Better read some of the reviews before buying. Also with the silicone material, you will need even more lube because that surface is more "grippy" than metal or glass.
