All businesses require QR codes and Vax certificates for entry. Hotels are certainly going to enforce it.

December 1 is supposed to be the real freedom day for everyone in NSW.

Actually, I was'nt so concerned about vax check.
I am more concerned for QR code checkin / privacy.

Wondering if anyone has perhaps been to a hotel that eas a bit lax on QR checking each guest.

cheers!

If you don't want to QR, the hotels have to have a manual sign in alternative.

Don't they require a swipe of your credit card first in case you do a runner or cause damage to the room?

Don't you have to register with the hotel and show your ID or passport if you check in a hotel.

The last time I used Dayuse was just like any other hotel check-in.

Got there, paid the total cost, they took my card details as usual to hold in case of additional costs.

Didn't need to check out, just drop the key card in the box.

I had to go downstairs to pickup my lady friend since most hotels require a card for the floor as well.

As I said, in any case they have your identity via your credit card

That’s usually the case with most hotels but some still cater for the cash market. You would need to find out what the security bond they require and pay that upfront. They would do their usual checks prior to releasing that bond back to you.

The QR Code checkin is enforced for the person who has booked the room but may not necessarily be enforced for all visitors, particularly if the hotel is busy and short on staff. My recommendation is to just check your lady friend in as a “dependent” on your own app and just say she doesn’t have a smartphone. She can always present her vax certificate separately if asked

Can't she check in manually?

I see there is going to be a short stay hotel inside T1 at Sydney Airport, offering rooms for as little as $55 pp for a 3 hour stay.

It appears to be aimed at overnight stayers and early arrivers, so probably some bargains for the middle of the day use.

Called "Aerotel".
