Footy and fun

If you were coming to Sydney from Brisbane for a long weekend of footy and punting fun what would be the best area to stay in so you have access to RL sporting grounds & access to MS?
I'm thinking inner city and specifically Chinatown area. What are the easiest RL grounds to get to - no car transport.

Chinatown or anywhere in that area near Central Station is good with plenty of massage R&T shops nearby, plenty of places to eat, and you can catch the light rail from Central Station which will take you to Sydney Football Stadium (Allianz) in 15 mins or the train from Central Station to Homebush - Olympic Park (Accor Stadium) in 20 mins.

You'll probably bump into Rooter leaving Ginza too.

Park yourself around Central/Surry Hills. It’s walking distance to Allianz and a direct train to either Olympic Park for Accor or Parra for Commbank.
