The problem is, the profit margin they're after isn't proportionate to household earnings because they're targeting those with lots of cash stashed away. Those without savings are what they consider collateral and will say it's their fault for not saving up or earning enough.

To save the situation, people have to change their habits so that they don't fuel the inflation. Perhaps those strongly affected by the inflationary pinch should go back into locking themselves down like during COVID-19.
