Not much to do with punting but I am dam tired of these price hikes and paying more for standard or poor service. I am sending a small packet off to Italy today and they are now asking $30 postage for a small packet to international. These used to cost me $23 to overseas and have seem to have gone up?? Anyone know? Now upon reading online I see they want to hike the prices of stamps up another 25% in January next year! So your $1.20 will become $1.50 etc, no extra benefit to the average person who needs to ship stuff. I've really had enough of these price hikes its not just Aus post but also supermarkets and everywhere else. There seems to be nothing we can do when one needs the service. I am pissed off and sick and tired of the average Joe getting hit for extra money. It affecting all of us no end in sight either. That's my Monday rant. Anyone else and don't get me started on supermarkets with 11 billion profits, interest rate hikes, we are all getting ripped off. I need my regular lady for some stress release texting her now. A good bj should do the trick.

I think people are fed up with the inflation and RBA rate hikes. The banks still make money by passing the rates to the average people. In the end it's the people who suffer the most.

Indeed, so why post it here? All these off topic subjects are really devaluing the "benefits" of this site.

Since we are on the Rant
I hate it without fail every week, some idiot makes a post on how many times do you punt in a week and how much do you spend.
And I hate idiots who are simps who over pay shop W/ls and give them gifts, than it becomes the expectation, so prices go up for everyone else.
That’s my Rant

Let it all out python.....unloading,ranting and releasing all that unresolved tension is good for the soul.
I unloaded over the weekend (both sexually and psychologically) and I feel so much lighter today.
I think punters need to rant and unload regularly, it's like a detox for the body and soul.

Perhaps the govt could subsidise punting?

Give a mental health rebate?

The govt should bring back petrol subsidies. It is because of the fuel prices that our inflation is going out of hand. They're making it an excuse that we don't have enough crude oil processing plants but the reality is that they're exporting it all for useless cash that doesn't get redistributed. That's the Labor govt for you, they've been at it every time they get into power.

agree but who have we got for choice to vote for? Our quality of life is suffering with inflation and price hikes I think many must be really struggling and that is no good. I'll be living on instant noodles soon.

I understand that inflation happens every year. Ten years ago many things weren't as expensive as it is now but at least even if you're on the Jobseeker payments you're able to afford a single room rent + groceries for a single person.

Right now even if you're living in Regional NSW the Jobseeker payments won't be enough.

The LMITO introduced by the Liberal govt during COVID was actually pretty good - it's like a cash stimulus paid in accordance to your earnings. The lower you earn the higher your offsets are. Even with that small amount of "stimulus" it doesn't cause inflationary flares.

The problem is immigration intake and corruption. Immigration intake must be balanced according to the country's needs for certain skilled professions, and they must also have the infrastructure to support such immigration. When you see the intake being ballooned out of proportions you know that corruption is at play.

That guy's gonna be voted out soon. We don't need to do anything as someone will step up and challenge their boss.

I was prepared to give him a go and not bag him. But after the Voice fiasco… no more slack.

If you want to be accurate you should discuss the free money in the billions donated by our Federal Government to allow everyone to buy a new difgital TV and billions given to Qantas, that set off the current recession. And if you want to be even more accurate, you could ask if the 2019-2020 overseas pandemic should have been avoided. Labs etc. Coverup etc. But let's not go there

I love the rants threads

If you are so testosteroned up that can't read anything or do anything that is not related to punting, then don't click on any thread that says 'weekend rant' or 'daily rant'

My motherland is also facing similar corruption issues that are affecting it's citizens. People can't afford bread but the politicians are getting fatter by sitting in their comfy seats.

Notice how there only are two main parties?

Most countries in the world are like that, in exception to Russia, China and North Korea.

Democratic govt systems usually rely on coalition formations to balance out the power grab but internal corruption is what's causing the coalition to suddenly side with the biggest party.

Previous Labor governments in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s slashed immigration during cost of living crises, which helped contain house price rises and rents.

The seeds of our current misfortune and recession had it's origins in 2019. No need to discuss that, just never forget

Interesting.

The net overseas migration level of 454,400 made up more than 80 per cent of the 563,200 population increase, when births were factored in.

This is sh_t for our wallets, but fantastic for the increased numbers of uni students needing to earn a decent income to buy their luxury bags, to cope with the FOMO caused by following stupid influencers

Whoever you vote for, it seems the higher the ranking the less life experience. Do you think Albo has worked a normal job at all. No. He has been embalmed in socialist politics and the meaningless life of keeping in favour with other party aparachiks. Probably forgotten how to open a car door

The thing that else totally sucked this year was no rebate on tax returns they just stole hundreds more dollars from under each of us and no one said a word. This country really needs some better leadership. Maybe some new blood on the scene a new party that will stop the way things are going. The fuckheads running the country now are going to bankrupt to many average people. Poor people who earn $1000 a week gross have to pay $750 a week rent then electricity and other bills. How can the average person get ahead, somethings got to change. Australian Punters Party sounds good will they help reduce the prices some WLs are charging?

Bro I'm hearing you. But nothing much can be done. The political cadre and dangerous faceless public servants for the last 30 years have been mediocre and effete (bearing no fruit, ineffective, useless). Under their watch since 1990 we are importing up to 400 000 people a year and not making any plans where to house people, and not overcoming local council resistance to building medium and high density housing
Politicians generally own investment property so didn't change anything as house prices rocketed. Would you? Meanwhile the next generation have already given up on owning a home

A little trivia for you. Did you know the NSW liberal government gave the Transurban company until 2060 to profit off all the Sydney tollroads. Transurban can increase tolls every three months until 2060. Believe it or not, in 2060, taxpayers will have paid three times the actual cost of building the tollroads. We should have just borrowed the money and taxpayers don't deal with this profit hungry menace. Countless times in 30 years we were wrongly sold the idea that privatisations help. They actually corrode public wellbeing
