Warned to avoid soi 6? this is the best street for punting in the world to my knowlodge, so many to choose from, i wouldn't reccomend going down there during the early hours of the morning, as for the bars, i think they are all great accept the ones with the he-shes, It really depends on what your after.
As far as hotels go it depends on your budget, i would reccomend Augustsuites, it is very Central, very clean with good service, it costs about $50 per night but i think the quality for your dollar is very good, i wouldn't reccomend and of the cheaper hotels, ive tried a fair few and was never happy, are you going in the start of September or the End?
