Went to Crown this evening and realised that there roulette wheels now has an extra number: 00, the odds are getting even better for the house, now with 38 numbers , the payout is still 35 to 1 !!!

Dropped $1,500 in an hour. Probably should have gone to City Road and fuck some girls rather than getting screwed by the dealers !

That's four sessions at MOC or TMC or 5 sessions at the 5 Star Penthouse.......

See if I can recover anything tomorrow !

Cheers

Ps. The bloody ATM machines on the ground floor has a limits of $200! Per transaction and charged $2.50

But rather than withdrawing $1,000 and pay $2.50 fees, if you want $1,000 you need to do this 4 times and pay 4 times the fees!!

It's a robbery !!!

The ATM between the casino and the metrople do have a $400 limit so that's better.

Even Star has wheels that have 00 now with same pay out rate. I think in time, they will get rid of the single 0 wheels. As if people weren't already losing enough, now they will lose even more, faster!

Ok then, good to know, I have not been to the Star city for a very long time so I didn't know, now I only visit casinos outside of Sydney!

I do play those computer game roulette a bit at the clubs but the damages are limited, a few hundred win or loss, unlike in the casino where I could lose thousands !

Cheers

They have very smart rules to win our money and our mind.
Like put $500 while on the spin on roulette and they will hold your cash and change it if you win and give you $1000 worth of chip, if you loose they just take it away and drop it in the box :)
I though would be quicker to just leave the cash and give $500 winning chips but no they wanted us to think its only plastic so we dont really care which we dont at the end as the value mean lower for a piece of plastic.

The ATM limit is a rort - that is how the machine owner makes their money. They employ the same tactic at the races too.

I thought it was the government's idea to limit the cash withdrawal in a gaming venue ? It's a regulation !

Dunno about limits, but I know it's government regulations that you can't use your credit card at ATMs in/near gaming venues...however, I know of one ATM at The Star which takes credit cards :grimace:

The wheel is the most fun and the hardest to make money on. Gambling is a waste of money. Crown is wanting more cash to pay for its new hotel in Sydney. Only losers think gambling is gaming entertainment and only losers think they can play the house and actually win long-term.

Last time I checked the only game you have a chance of winning at is 21 as the odds are not stacked against you if you have skill. But if you win at this consistently you will probably be banned from the casino ...

I've learnt the only way to win is to bet on the house...so I bought shares in them haha.

There is no skill to defeat the house and win long term in gambling. The odds are always stacked in favour of the house. It's how they make money. Sure. it's fun to play games, and I'm a big fan of the wheel, but I drop little more than $100 every 6 months. I find it amazing how many people throw thousands onto the table and think it's bad luck when they lose it. It's the way the game works. Computerised game machines are worse. Gee, these things should be banned.

I have been a gambling addict for a very long time, until a few years ago I turned a new leaf and never returned to the Star City, I still punt of course on the footy and horses but my wagers are much much smaller now, like a $20 on a multiple to win $300-$400, so I wouldn't be losing thousands ! Well, until this week in Melbourne, dropped $2,500 in total. Funny enough, I went to my club today and just for the sake of it, have a few games on the computerised roulette game and win back $500!

Not here to encourage people to gamble, I only knew too well, but in Crown with the real wheel, I could lose 10 spins in a row and not have one collect - and I am not betting on 1 or 2 numbers, more like 12 to 20 numbers (like half the wheel!) and the ball just didn't drop into my section! with the computer game, for some reason, I found it more predictable and it is more likely to have double spin numbers or neighbouring numbers. The only problem is - the $100 per spin limit so you can't double up even with your numbers are keep coming up !!

I got a question for those brothers in the know, with the computer games, it is set to return 80-85% of total taking back out as winnings right? So how is the computer programmed to give out those winnings. are the numbers already set, or it is changed on every spin depending on the numbers you are betting on ?? What I am saying is, is the computet actually thinking (calculating) on every spin to let you win some, win big or no win ??

Anyone has any idea ??

Cheers

Hi Alunghor bro,

I too love to gamble quite hard and have also not been to Star City for years and play roulette at the clubs nowdays.
Have a read of the below. If you have played roulette in the clubs a lot the link will make a lot of sense. It highlights a few flaws in the system.
I first didn't believe it but have followed it a few times, especially the 1,20,14 and 2,4,6 rule and has worked for me.
One occasion after watching the game for a while and then betting on a pattern, I turned $100 into $30K over a 4 hr period.
Only issue with it, is you really need to be patient. I for one, love to bet every hand and that's where I end up losing most of the time.

Hope it helps.

Thanks mate,

Very interesting article and I will agree to some of the comments and observations!

Especially the pay period and none paying periods.

Especially when you are losing, and you tend to cover more numbers on the wheel to win less but to protect your bets, and how often you would have covered 30 numbers and without fail, one of the uncovered 7 numbers will come up !!

And you thought there must be a small man sitting inside the computer stuffing things up or more realistically the A.I. inside the computer is calculating !

Cheers
