Dear friends and shop owners be on the look out for these $100 and $50 notes which have started circulating in Sydney with the same serial numbers.
Fake $100'S

BK08689143
FA96403514
CO09496094
CO09496096

FAKE $50'S

I know its probably a hassle checking for the $50's but be especially careful when a punter hands you a hundred dollar note.

No worries. A majority of the business affected centred around gambling facilities like the TAB. But its only a matter of time before these people try to use these fake notes in our beloved shops.

Has anyone ever actually come across one of these fake notes? How easy is it to tell that they are fake, is it really obvious based on the feel or look of them or mixed in with other notes would it be hard to tell?

I have. The paper quality feels different from
real notes. Also check the clear window on notes. Real notes have the window symmetrical and part of the note. The windows on fakes will look like they have been glued on or have exposed edges. Also depending on the value most notes will have their value written in very small print e.g $100 notes will have the words "one hundred" written on it.

For sure it is as the real ones are not paper :)

They're all plastic, it's an Australian technology, The Reserve Bank is actually printing notes for a few other countries !

Luckily 80% of our takings are Plastics :miao:

The fakes are printed on plastic film so that the clear window looks real. They also cant be easily torn like real notes. The telltale signs are that the colour is off and they are not waterproof.

Trust me, I know!

Congratulations, that's 8% more revenue income for nothing ! Assuming you put a 10% surcharge on the transactions !

Corrections , more like 7% as you do need to pay the merchant fees on credit cards !

Still a nice little bonus for the shop !

I hope you handed it back in the form if a closed fist to the persons mouth lol.

On a totally unrelated matter I have just written my work email down to give to a client ending with ".cim" instead of .com ahahahaha but I don't think she knows what a CIM is. Ahahahaha

I reckon if you were trying to get away with passing off counterfeit notes you would use them in the following situations:
1. Dimly lit places eg pubs, bars, night clubs, brothels
2. Busy high volume places
3. Illegal transactions
4. Large transactions (inter file fake ones with real ones.
Any others ...

Work Gucci(when I'm actually at work) is the extreme opposite of Punter Gucci. My sexual deviancy happens behind closed brothel doors not office ones.....not yet anyway.
