I do enjoy BBBJ on occasion.

I'm just glad I'm not in the sample group that this study for the majority consists of.

From: http://www.smh.com.au/national/health/study-finds-throat-infections-caused-by-gonorrhoea-on-the-rise-20140120-314ot.html#ixzz2qvo4Qux0

From January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2012, the study found that out of 3132 reported cases of gonorrhoea, 88.3 per cent of the cases were men.
There was also a 78.8 per cent rise in anorectal infections.

“We presume they’re largely men who have sex with men,” study co-author and Director of South Eastern Sydney Public Health Unit, Professor Mark Ferson, said.
...
The study, published in the Medical Journal of Australia, used the NSW Health’s notifiable diseases database to link multiple infection cases with individual patients living in Sydney’s eastern and southern suburbs, and central Sydney areas including the CBD, Woolloomooloo, Potts Point, Darlinghurst and Surry Hills.
The study noted that south-eastern Sydney had the largest concentration of gay men, and in whom there has been a high rate of infectious syphilis, though the rate of syphilis had stabilised since an increase of occurrence from 2001, Professor Ferson said.

"Largely relates to men who have sex with men" I doubt we have many of that type of punter on this forum?

88% were men, which suggests that the other 12% of respondents were women. They are only presuming that these men were gay.

WLs are more likely to be involved in oral with multiple partners, so the is risk is there. This does debunk the belief of some punters that it is not possible to catch something from BJs.

The article refers to throat infections, so that would refer to people performing oral sex on men? Isn't that why it's presumed it largely relates to gay males if the guy has a throat infection? Don't really touch the throat with DATY. The risk of BBBJ is more for the person performing it. There is always risk for everyone involved, of course.

Get tested is my humble recommendation

The risks of chlamydia or gonorrhoea with receiving oral sex are probably less than with vaginal sex, in heterosexual activities, according to what a doctor told me this week

The problem with receiving unprotected oral sex is more getting Herpes, syphilis, and NGU

... The risks of chlamydia or gonorrhoea with receiving oral sex are probably less than with vaginal sex, in heterosexual activities, according to what a doctor told me this week ...You needed a doctor to tell you that?!

Perhaps you can explain to me why if a lady sucks my cock au naturel I'm any more likely to pick up an STI from her than if she kissed me or sucked my toes?

If she has oral herpes in the contagious early phase (cold sore), then herpes is easily spread to mucosal surfaces, such as your lips (if you have cracks in the lips) or to your penis, if you receive unprotected oral sex (receive BBBJ)

Apparently herpes cant easily be spread to your skin, which has a thicker covering compared to your lips/mouth, penis and anus), so your toes are pretty immune from getting herpes ulcers

Could I get a show of hands from those who were not taught this at the sexual education class at school?

And those who were not, where the F**** did you go to school?

Licker, there are a lot of people reading this thread who dont post a comment

I assume they are also enlightened, and also know all this stuff

I was worried about the chances of getting chlamydia/gonorrhoea or NSU from the guy receiving unprotected oral sex/BBBJ from a working lady

Im still not sure about the real risks, as the two doctors I saw in the last fortnight gave me two different opinions

And these doctors were from the NSW Sexual Health Clinic in my area, so they were specialists in Sexual Health

First sexual health doctor: Unprotected oral and vaginal sex are equally likely to give you STI

Second sexual health doctor: Its rare to see chlamydia or gonorrhoea be transmitted from woman to man just by man receiving unprotected oral sex

Licker, you sound pretty switched on, what is your take on this, and sorry if its all pretty basic info

For the record I didnt get ANY sexual health teaching at my high school

The actual article has been published in this months issue of the Medical Journal of Australia

We should try to get the article, so we can make some accurate conclusions

I do like how the working ladies love to have Listerine gargles before and after clients - it cant hurt

But dont know if the gargle makes a difference

Maybe a new BBBJ study, assessing the effectiveness of mouth gargles, is required ?

Forget the Australian Medical Journal, the best advice we can all take here is for someone to tell harmony to "shut the fuck up". There,I just said what we have all been thinking and wishing for the last month. Every post if meaningless and surreal, obviously written by a pusillanimous twitt who lacks any courage to actually do anything. His (not sure) posts are basically comments and requests on matters to which he has no obvious knowledge or opinions.
There I said it,I put it out there!!! Feel free to add.

You could just add him to your Ignore List as was suggested to me.
But Sudden Death would be more effective.
