Best bet is check the last min and wotif websites. But take a little care. If not sure about the deal check the hotel website. I have found some as the same price as the 'deal'. Also though need of speed found if you call some hotels direct name the price and site you saw it on. Most do same deal but you don't pay website booking fee. Spose it all depends on how classy your lady friend is from there.

Next step up would be Ibis at Mascot, or International Motor Inn near the Airport. Good motel at Blakehurst not far from Airport if u have car.
Lots of boutique style hotels around Chinatown for less than 200.

Milson Point is a bit far away from the South where the brother writing starting the thread lives. But if there is Harbour Bridge plus Opera House view, I can rent it for $40 an hour. Sharing of a girl worth more than $40 an hour and your apartment can't commend that kind of rent. Just a joke but I think I like the Quay more which is next to the Opera House and the Botanic Garden and closer to the City Centre and has fantastic view.
