Was watching some porn on my iPhone 6 Plus and a warning window pops up: saying something like virus detected, serious damage to your iPhone , click OK to clean or check or something like that! The phone was frozen , of course I didn't click OK , just turned the phone off and start again!

Can any brother in the know share some safety tips in this regard ? What would happen if I click OK ? Can an iPhone be infected like a PC ? What is the worst case that can happen to my phone ?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Just google the question, better still, contact Apple/ iPhone for advice.

Sounds like one of those bullshit ads they have. If you had clicked on it then it probably would have tried to install some rubbish on your phone. They have those ads when you browse using your computer as well. They make the popups appear like they're legitimate warnings and ask you to install virus cleaning programs on your computer. These so called antivirus software are laden with malware and ads.

Just ignore them in the future.

I get a similar problem. When I open a page eg SMH it redirects to another spam page and won't go to article selected. Was curious to see if it can get infected like a PC

That was my question !

Like, if infected, can we reformat a hard disk or the sim card ??

It's not the hard disc that you have to worry about, it's the stolen information that is scary !
