What surprised me is that the girl's take home pay is only around $20/hr, and the shop emphasized the rate as if it's pretty good.

It was located between Market street and the Hilton Hotel. I believe there use to be a barber downstairs. There was a sign on the street saying Japanese hostess lounge with an arrow pointing downstairs. It was Friday night when I saw it. Maybe it was closed when you walked past it.

Most of the girls speak Japanese only so if you don't speak Japanese it is very hard to communicate and you'll end up just sitting there in awkward silence. They will try to pair you up with an English speaking girl, if you are lucky. The girls will normally get rotated around every few minutes.

You would think that with those prices the quality is really high but that's not the case. Most of the girls are just average and the furnishing is very basic. The place might not even be licenced to serve alcohol so if the cops show up there is panicking and they have to hide all the drinks.

Bottom line, if you are not Japanese then save your money for other fun.

These types of hostess bar/kareoke are pretty popular in Asia, and I think ud be better off going to these places if u ever visit overseas and most importantly, have connections there.

I've been to a few in Taiwan (a few good high school mates are from there), and there's one I went which was regarded as top ranked in taipei and the girls are straight outta magazine. Normally they will change the girls who are accompany u within 1 or 2 hours, but I paid extra to keep the single girl with me for 6 hrs from 9pm go 3am.

I ended up spending around 700AUD, with unlimited drinks and the girl went back to my hotel with me for the rest of the night. YMMV tho.

KTV in Asian countries are obviously much better than in Sydney. In Sydney, it is predominately singing, light touching, and if u work your magic, possibly a hook up outside the establishment, or if you are a regular, grabbing ass, tits etc.

There are 1s where it’s karaoke and every hour, there’s a “showtime” (which is basically a quick blowjob - yes, in front of everyone in the room) There are karaokes where it’s all the same as the ones in Sydney, but at the end of the night, you can pay extra to take them home with you. Then there are establishments that are connected to their own hotel, and after your karaoke session, you can take them upstairs for 1 hour.

There are super high class venues that I have been lucky enough to visit. These venues are the best of the best. Whether it’s the hottest girls in the country, or the venue and fitout is immaculate. I’m talking fitout as extravagant as the 5 star hotels. Crystal glassware, marble colours, fireplaces, massive tvs, etc.
