Ive injured my back and had to go through getting a fusion done. Due to the injury there was some nerve compression and my sensory nerves are all over the place for my lower half.

I want to get this all fixed up and get back into punting.

feel free to PM me any info

Thanks in advance

sorry to hear that mate.
i can't help, but didn't your GP refer you to a specialist?

btw how did you get injured? bit concerned if it's caused by an inexperienced ML.

yea got referred to one, but i want to get a few other points of views from others.

no, wasnt from any ML

was a build up from bad posture and heavy lifting, what caused the most damage was from a sneeze that forced the disc into the nerves in the spine

Get a good strong thai massage. There is a legit one at canterbury rd dulwich hill it's across the car wash. I think the place called ruan massage.

Have you tried a chiropractor?

They have done wonders for my back problems, no surgery involved.

Fixing my back got rid of a lot of other health problems as well.

Back is fine now since the surgery, at the moment it is more nerves. As the sensation isn't there, I can get it up but can't feel anything.

Not sure if the chiropractor can help with that.

Specialist visit + core muscle conditioning worked for me. Specialist said I needed surgery in the future to sort out tingling sensations from my hips to my toes, but suggested I could put that off by building strength in my core muscle groups. That was 6 years ago - haven't looked back.

What sort of specialist did you see and was there anywhere you went to do the core muscle conditioning?

Not sure if sex forum is the best place to ask this. Try whirlpool or a health forum

The specialist was a surgeon with expertise in groun and lower back injuries. The core muscle conditioning was essentially a session at the local gym, where I explained the surgeon's advice and that was translated into a set of resistance exercises by a personal trainer. I now just do those exercises at the same gym twice a week on my own and mixed with other cardio work. I'm fitter stronger and more toned as a result.

When the injury involves nerve damage and the wrong solution could make it worse then the result could be the end of your sex life as you know it (my specialist surgeon's advice to me at the time). That's when this becomes relevant on a sex forum!

What sort of resistance exercises did you think were beneficial and do you think it is worth getting a personal trainer?
Hopefully i can get to the stage you are at and return to the punting scene

First, get a good law firm to file a work related injury compensation claim, so you can have more money for punting later ! ;) ;) ;)

That would be nice, but I have saved up a fair amount due to being out of action for the past 6 months.

Too bad Leng Leng has retired long time ago, otherwise you should see her and let her magical hands bring you back to life !

It's probably much safer to get a GP or specialist to determine exactly what muscle groups can have a positive impact on your particular problem. Then with that information a trained personal trainer or physio ( who has been taught anatomy ) can recommend exercises that strengthen the particular muscle groups that will give you the greatest benefit.

You may find that strengthening isn't the right solution for you, or that you need to take it very carefully to start.

When it comes to nerve damage you don't want to take unnecessary risks. Chronic pain is really, really debilitating.

Thanks for the advice birch

I will speak with the GP and see who they would recommend or specialist and take it from there. Hopefully it isn't as bad as i think it is and it will be the exercise + strengthening

I have been though the chronic pain and can definitely understand it is not a great feeling

i wouldn't bother seeing a gp in a medical centre i went years without getting properly diagnosed so a lot of my nerve endings are dead.

If you can find someone who does polarity treatment i highly recommend that.
