Do u use work computer for illict uses ?

There was article in today paper where a insurance manager sacked for
storing hardcore porn including a sex video of himself had won $10000
in damages. I admit when quiet or bored at work , before or after work
I have use work computer for viewing porn & using adult chat sites. My
biggest worry is that I infect the computer server with a Trojan virus
from porn websites or even worse I forget to log off when using Adult
chat site or porn sites. Just curious do many other punters use the
work computer for illicit purposes ?

Just not worth it in my eyes.

Smart phones are just as good as computers these days so I rather jump on my private phone and have a squiz on there.

I've worked in the IT department of lots of big corporates and you're often asked to pull up the proxy log records when they want to whack someone.

Rule #1 of HR is don't fire someone for what the real problem is (eg poor performance), get rid of them in whatever way offers the lowest risk to the organisation (eg violations of policies / laws; make the position redundant if they happen to be doing something remotely unique; apply a "freeze" so fixed-term contracts can't be renewed etc).

Don't access sites like this from work. I'd also add that phones aren't that safe any more either, with the ever-increasing amount of "bring your own device" use at work with company software going onto them. Get a burner phone or use a home computer if you want employment safety.

I am in IT so we know how much tracking is being done. Basically they know what you do during the day, what websites, what videos, whatever you do on company network :shout::miao:

Use your own smartphone/iPad/laptop on your own network to do your private stuff.
