So the time has come. This will probably be one of my last posts. The backstory is in one of my other threads (http://forum.aus99.com/showthread.php?65666-Self-control) but to summarise - I’ve got a problem. After reflecting for a while, I’ve realised how messed up I’ve become. A little bit of background - I’m in my mid-20s, work in the banking industry and for as long as I remember, have always been very driven and motivated. I went through a break up with my ex a few months ago, “coincidentally” got back into the punting scene, joined this forum and things have spiralled downhill from there. I’ve become addicted. In one of the threads (http://forum.aus99.com/showthread.php?65336-How-painful) , someone mentioned that “men think about sex 7000 times a day” – for the past few weeks, this number is definitely on the low end for me.

I’ve made up excuses (http://forum.aus99.com/showthread.php?65445-Improving-sex-via-punting) along the way, I tried to fool myself into believing I was using punting to “try to improve my sex game”. The truth was, I was using punting to try and get over my ex. I was merely replacing one problem with another. And I know better than this – I’ve got things to do, goals to achieve, people to meet and a future right in front of me. Why waste it thinking about sex all day? Yes, I like to fuck but not when fucking is all I can think about. And sadly, that has become the case.

Things have got to change. I have to move on. It’s been an absolutely pleasure being on this forum and I enjoyed every moment of it. I used to think all punters are seedy old men and all WL’s are slutty bitches. But this forum has changed my perspective. All of you are intelligent, funny, knowledgeable and unique in your own way. Thank you guys for all your contributions.

Punterman – for putting up with me. I have a lot of respect for you and look up to you in many ways. Please don’t take my “brash” comments personally. They were all “a bit of fun to lighten up the day”.

Coming up with “crackpot” theories (http://forum.aus99.com/showthread.php?65336-How-painful) about what the world will be like in the future, with everyone in the thread thinking I’m some sort of nutcase (which is partly true).


My punting journey has come to an end. My last punt will probably be next week. Still haven’t decided where yet but it will be somewhere good.

I wish I could stop my scenario is very similar to yours I'm late 20s working in finance and recently got back into the game when my ex broke up with me. I resulted to punting to get over her but feel like the situation is worse than ever. I don't think I'll stop punting as of yet though

I've always been a mid-tier punter. Never ventured into the high or low tiers before, so decided to check out 7 Cowper for shits and giggles. Nothing to lose right, it's cheap as chips and they've even got a limited time promotion? Poor judgement. Worst decision. I remember doing a post like this a while back "the final chase" took a break for about 3 weeks and came back. I guess my reason for leaving were different though. I understand what it's like to look forward and think I've got my whole life ahead but in all honesty punting ain't a bad thing beside the drain on the wallet. I reckon if there wasn't so much stigma about the industry more people would try it. Nothing to say you can achieve and be who you want to be with punting on the side. Honestly if anything I think punting has broaden and widened my perspective and certain moral issue I look at in life. It's made me a more understanding and empathetic person to people within the industry. Quite frankly the way the industry functions and the way the market regulates itself is quite interesting.

I used to punt for the wrong purpose honestly even now I probably still do. But alas it's a hard place to leave so respect to you for taking an extended break. (Punters don't retire we go on hiatus) hahaha

The only time when I wanted to stop punting was probably my mood and other aspects of my life - not the actual punt in itself.

I notice when my life is going well - my sexual desires are up and I am more playful with my girls :)

It's a good idea to sort urself out, if punting is affecting it then sure stop.

However when ur mood returns, u may feel like to punt again - did seem like u punted before ur relationship so it's not like it has to be it. If u do return to punting after u sort ur stuff out don't feel too much guilt

I think there's no need to quit punting long term, I think you just need to get yourself BUSY.

When you're involved with work etc heavily, then you won't have time to think about sex too much.

I think most of us on this forum think about sex a lot and enjoy ourselves but then areable to put it aside when were done and move on with the rest of our day.

Sex, or anything else, should just be a PART of your life.
