Till now, all I have ever given is urine and blood tests for STI tests.
After 2-3 days, they call you and let you know whether or not you are clean.
Sometimes they don't even call you; in such case, you can assume you are clean.

Yes, you can just roll up to the test center but wait could be longer. I suggest you make an appointment.

If you have some kinda wart or rash and you are concerned, they will take a swab sample too.
If you haven't got Hep vaccines, get them too as they can be free in test center (I think).

To add to this, I suggest you repeat the test every 3 months.
If some guys are living dangerously (raw-dogging and all), I suggest them to test immediately after such an encounter. It is not wise at all no matter how good it feels.

You can order a homekit test online (Google it) for many of the common STI's and HIV. Either a pin prick to your finger or (painfully) a swab inside your urethra.
