Strictly speaking, Filipina is only an official noun in the Urban Dictionary, not in mainstream dictionaries.

And she’s not wrong when she said “I’m Filipino ”, the word is used as an adjective, not a noun, so she’s not wrong either.

Filipino is for the Men. Filipino is an acceptable use when talking about the country and its people collectively, but if you're talking about one Woman its Filipina.

Respectfully disagree, in my situation when I text here I said something like "I like filipina" to which the handler replied "you mean filipino". Of the 100+ filipina I've paid over the past few years they all refer to themselves as filipina. Certainly education is not one of their strong suits.

Not many filipinas can get visas to come here as it's a difficult process from their end. There is a few but your radar should go up if you see someone advertising as from the Phillipines or saying"filipino" in their ad as you rightly pointed out.
