The media are over reacting recently, right?
So how do we explain this latest report ?

China due to introduce facial recognition scans for all mobile phone users from 1 December 2019.
The aim is that by 2020, everyone in China will be enrolled in a vast national database that compiles fiscal and government information to give a "ranking" for each citizen

People will have their face scanned everytime they log onto a porn or punting website. Maybe with public naming and face shaming ? Peoples locations and identities can be tracked in real time. Retrospective installation of this technology, on all mobile phones, would be the goal. In the past, this was be considered an invasion of privacy, only hackers would access your phone camera. Imagine your gf or sister using her phone in the bathroom, and a government official is collecting 1000s of photos of her, taken by the phone camera. When was it decided that this is now acceptable? Realtime monitoring to document which phone users are visiting which websites.

Hacking into the national database will give criminals your name, all details your phone company has about you, your phone number, and your recent photo. Perfect for identity theft

When Im there, I may start putting black tape over the smartphone camera lens
