Very silly from the owners out everyone at risk. If the owners will do this we know they will go to great lengths to short cut i.e. ethics to the girls, cleanliness, hygiene during normal circumstances.

Shame shame shame.

A Sydney massage parlour owner, three staff members and a returned traveller from the Lake Macquarie area are the first individuals and business in NSW to receive infringements following amendments to the Public Health Act.

Earlier today (Thursday 26 March 2020), officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were conducting a patrol in the Sydney CBD as part of a proactive police operation to ensure individuals and businesses were complying with all ministerial directions related to COVID-19.

As a result of these inspections, a massage parlour on Sussex Street was identified as still operating, contrary to a Public Health Order.

Officers spoke with the female owner of the business and issued her with a $5000 Penalty Infringement Notice (PIN) for failing to comply with a direction under Section 7 of the Public Health Act 2010 (NSW).

Three female staff members were also issued with $1000 PINs.

In a separate incident, last Saturday (21 March 2020), a 65-year-old woman arrived at Sydney International Airport on a flight from Bali. She was advised she was subject to a Public Health Order and was required to quarantine for a 14-day period.

After receiving information that the woman had contravened the order, officers from Lake Macquarie Police District attended her Redhead home about midday on Monday (23 March 2020) and issued her with a warning for breaching the order.

Police received further information that the woman had left her home during the morning today (Thursday 26 March 2020) and was in breach of the order.

About 1.45pm, officers returned to the woman’s home and issued her with a $1000 PIN for failing to comply with a direction under Section 7 of the Public Health Act 2010 (NSW).

Minister for Police and Emergency Services, David Elliott, said the rules could not be clearer and they apply to everyone.

“No one is above the law. If you decide to ignore a direction, you will be caught, and you may very well find yourself slapped with a hefty fine,” the Minister said.

I wonder which shop this was on Sussex St... pretty sure Nana's shop at 265 Sussex has been closed since the lockdown started 24 hrs ago...

It's DOS diva of sussex.

I would be surprised if it was Sussex Star considering the bad news coverage they got a few years ago. Nana also owns 88 Artarmon and I hear recently opened a FS shop in Newtown .

Yes it was DOS. I walked past them on my way to get groceries and was very surprised the light on their shop signage was still on!
I'd imagine it would've been quite the experience for a punter caught up in the bust.
And yes, the cops really are clamping down. They're using helicopters, low flying over the city, to monitor for any unwanted business or crowd activities.

Probably no customer there at the time ?

Imagine if when the police were checking , all three MLs were working and all parties were naked and in the middle of conducting part 2 acts or beyond ? What sort of headlines would they made ?

They probably could have got away if they turned all the signs off, close the front door and either by appointment only or via WeChat?

And even when the police came , just answer the door: sorry, we are closed and if police insist to come in, just said the girls sleep there doing self isolation as they live in crowded apartment or something like ?

Too late now, let’s just not do silly thing any more and ride this thing out. It’s the law now people.

Yeah, leaving the lights on was plain stupid. I bet, when cops turned up, they claimed "I don't know! My english no good".

That is exactly what a mate of a mate is doing. I've been forwarding these threads and articles to scare him but he ain't budging. He has a shophouse, so he's been housing the girls for a small fee. He also been driving the girls to customer homes.

Maybe time to dob him in? [emoji13]

Seriously though, he's risking the lives of not only the girls and the customers, but whoever comes into contact with them. Blood is in his hands.

The police are most likely operating on tip offs from members of the public.

Prior to the Stage 2 closures I'd been told by a couple of receptionists/owners that they'd had guys calling pretending to be council officers and telling them they were in violation of the guidelines and needed to close.

So there are guys out there looking to cause trouble for shops any way they can. Operating incalls on the sly is just not going to pay off.

Not to mention that there are 4 competitors for the punting dollar within a 50 metre radius of them that I believe have followed the law.

Why? Who do you want to snitch on? Call Crime Stoppers if you're that concerned for our welfare.

To fine the shop is ok. But to fine the workers, it's too much.
This became news is probably because they wanted to show an example but I'd say it's done in a wrong way.
In this kind of moments, people need $$$.

Seems unfair every other shops have to stop but they can break the rules and endanger other people's health amidst an epidemic. Will the police enforce the lock down rules for these irresponsible people?

I have seen a couple of Caucasian erotic massage places advertising that they are still taking outcalls, and that they can arrange incalls 'at a convenient location'... which I assume means a rental or AirBnB somewhere in town?

One has stopped. The other is still advertising and claiming on their website that such a practice is not against the current stage two regulations, but should stage three come the service will no longer be available.

What is the deal with outcalls right now? What is the deal with private incall arrangements to rentals and AirBnBs?

Some may consider it a 'grey area' from the respect that two people can still share an indoor area >4sqm. But I can't imagine some of the other big players in the Caucasian erotic massage game, who have already closed up shop, being too happy about this.

There will be shops willing to dob in their competitors if they haven't closed because they are complying with the law and have ceased trading.

The stupid shop can't blatanty use ignorance as an excuse to not know what is happening out there... Regardless if they're informed on current local Australian news or not...

In saying this, alot will have gone underground and provide 'delivery' services to skirt around the shop closures. Working by appointment only at the shops are very risky... A few operators are either brave or foolish enough to advertise these services...

Good luck to them... I understand that they need to eat... But it is a gamble at the end of the day...The next step might be a complete closure to the shop trading, even when the shut down gets lifted...

We will soon see...

On the news last night,a brothel was busted for operating out of an apartment in the CBD. The brothel was caught out by police on Day street not far from the Police station on the same street. The owner and two girls (I believe they said only two sex workers were found on the premises) were fined. Did anyone hear about it? I wonder whether occupants in the apartment complex noticed many guys walking in and out and reported it to the police.

Last week I saw an advert for an Incall on Skokka that was using photos of a girl that I know and was operating out of a Day street place. I contact the girl I knew and she assured me that she was not working and she thinks someone else was using her photos. I am still undecided to believe her or not. I contacted the person advertising and asked for a face photo and it was not my friend. I decided not to go as I do not want to catch anything and hopefully wait till everything settles down and get back to normal.
