I was a gambling addict especially pokies and sports betting.
I won multiple jackpot many times
The least was 8.3k, the most was 27k.
I punt and gamble at the same time.
I pretty much wasted a nice house for those habits and some other dreams. Now I stopped gambling but still punting.
I was always taught that there are 4 things that can destroyed men's life:
1. Drugs
2. Alcohol
3. Women
4. Gambling.
I never done 1, occasionally do 2, still doing 3, quit on 4.
So now I'm trying to limit punting.
I could spend 1 to 2k a week just punting plus gambling roughly 5-8k a week in my hey day. I had nice job and now in the midst of rebuilding my life.
Somehow, someway after all that happened, I've got something inside that tells me I'll be something great.

Very sad how popular and prevalent pokie machines are. Programmed to lose... Sure you can get lucky, but I doubt any have come out ahead.

If anything, at least with sports betting (racing also, depending on your acumen), you can feel/justify that you have an edge on the bookmaker and make your decisions accordingly. Also, utilise the lucrative sign-up offers that the agencies provide (may not be large enough for some huge bettors, however).

All things considered... i would consider the two mutually exclusive; gambling and massages. In an environment like this where we miss what we had... take the massage :)
