Hi aussiegaigin, the reason why a third party owned Scomo's account is because he wanted to create an 'official (i.e. public) account' on Wechat. To do so, I believe you must be based in China (not 100% sure). This meant he had to hire someone to manage the account for him. If you only have a normal account for personal use, you do not need to worry.
Not 100% sure about the greetings but the phone calls are likely just scammers.

Yes I think they are more common these days on social media accounts. I am getting random girls sending messages on WhatsApp also.
