I like how American Filmmaker/Actor Fisher Stevens directed it, established great rapport with the interviewees, and the mirror box usage as they watched and reacted to moments from pivotal games, that was a cool technique and captured tears in their eyes. On a side note, I do wonder whether Beckham would’ve been less of a household name had he not hooked up with a spice girl, Victoria. I liked the bit about seeing her on telly and saying to a mate he wanted that chick. And the bit about how OCD he is, cleaning even candles after usage. And spending all his money as soon as he got it. I like Beckham. Very relatable.
He seems like an incredibly open guy which is great to see.
Beckham's story is also notable to the fact he allegedly had an affair with the families nanny and remains married despite that
My missus watched it. Thought is was great
Imagine all the pussy that man has had during his hay day.
English footy fans are ruthless ... they blamed Beckham for the 1998 world cup exit and for next few years they sledged him everywhere he and his family went ... victoria turns up to support him in the audience and they start chanting 'victoria takes it up the ass' .... ouch! imagine being her surrounded by 70,000 ppl or so chanting that ....
Watched it with the gestapo . Was ok. liked the end as it revealed a whats seems strong family.
Maybe an episode too long.
DB seems like a very nice person .. media and fickle fans villafied him.
Not as engrossing and full on as The Last Dance series about Michael Jordan. MJ was a ruthless competitor. took no prisoners on the court or in his team.
Suggest Watch ABC Australian story with Luc Longley (was on Bulls winning teams ) as a followup.
Good call and recommendation iamthewalrus bro, 💯 agree with you. MJ was ruthless and exploring that in the last dance was so powerful and intriguing.
It’s a shame they skirted around the affair issue in this Beckham doco. Could’ve been so much better had Fisher been more direct in his questioning, and less buddy buddy.
Affair issue would have been good to get into, if just to learn how he smoothed it over with posh.
Totally uplatelately bro…. Totally
Great player for sure and comes across as a very decent bloke as well as a great family man. Besides the odd indiscretion of course. Seem very tight now.
Did he lead the tattoo revolution?
The docu inspires me to give up punting and take up football.
Shooting a goal is more satisfying than shooting a hole.
Sibon, whats the point of these inane posts in every thread??
