First time overseas / first time Bangkok

This is not a short post, I am hoping that this might help / encourage others that have been thinking about having some fun overseas, but like me, overthinking a bit and hesitating.
Before COVID I’ve been living in a comfort zone of sorts. I am not sure where the time went. I didn’t take risks really and life just passed by, almost 10 years. COVID shook me up, time is precious, you only live once. Spoke to a mental health person actually because I was a bit lost to be honest. That was the beginning of turning things around, I lost weight and started taking risks, won a promotion and managed to get a GF even. Both weren’t for me, but I’m glad I took a shot and gained the experience.
I was in Perth a few times (I wrote on this site about my experiences) and my first time with escorts. The first time was quite anxious, but it got better with time and now can enjoy it much more. I am grateful that I have a secure job, so money isn’t an issue, I’m single, no dependents and can be frugal when needed, but also working on treating myself more. You can’t take it with you and you only live once.
Finally WA let us leave the country. I am permanent resident (from Europe) and haven’t seen family for many years and eager to travel again, make new experiences. I researched for days as to where to go. It felt like a 4 Dimensional rubik's cube at times. COVID rules kept changing, flights would change, flight prices would change, when a plan formed, some obstacle appeared. COVID rules made it difficult to stay a few nights in one place, then move one…
After a while Bangkok emerged as a good Hub for my plans. Firstly Scoot had affordable flights to BKK from Perth via Singapore. And there were decent flights to my hometown in Europe, one even direct!
I booked a return flight with Scoot first. It’s a budget airline where you pay for everything extra, be it choosing your seat, checked luggage, water, food, Internet. I read the rules carefully, I could take 10 Kg with me and travelled with a small backpack and wheely suitcase (there is an exact measurement of the largest suitcase you can carry on). I wanted to avoid checked baggage for a couple of reasons: Avoid lost luggage because I knew of pent up travelling demand, able to checking online and skip the lines, go straight to bag drop and just the feeling of having everything on me.
If anyone wonders, I carried pills, specifically Viagra and Cialis with me, wasn’t an issue in any of the countries I travel to / through.
Paperwork was next. Thailand have this thing called Thailand Pass and a program called Test and Go. You fill out the details with the Thailand Pass site, it is an official government site. Details such as who you are, passport photo, flight details, vaccination proof. They make you take out insurance (which is bit of a scam as it doesn’t cover anything COVID related, neither does my Bankwest credit card, what a scam…) Took me a while on the computer. I highly recommend to be organised here. Have all you documents digitally on something like Google drive and make it available offline. That way, even without SIM or WIFI you can access everything. Thailand pass has links for the insurance, so just followed that. Then you need to book a hotel for one night. But as a package including airport transport, COVID test. They are clearly marked. I picked something close to transportation, more on that later, and you book through Agoda. Agoda turned out fantastic, did all my Hotel bookings through Agoda, more on that later. All in all I stayed in 5 hotels, because I actually enjoyed moving around and seeing the differences and also sharing with you what I think is a good hotel.
I booked other flights as they became available. Got a killer deal on return flight from Europe to BKK, just 200 EUR with Saudia. I ended up bidding to upgrade to Business, and they took it. My minimum bid of 300 EUR was accepted and for the first time in my life I flew business which was an unreal experience. Had a nice shower in the lounge in Saudi Arabia and feasted throughout.
Anyway, back to BKK. The flight leaving Perth was delayed. Lots of people unprepared with paperwork, looking through their phones and finding paperwork or being caught out with luggage rules, having to pay surcharge. I arrived early, so didn’t wait that long. I had downloaded Netflix content to keep me busy. Used the suitcase (extend the handle) to lean the phone against and you have a cheap portable cinema. Also, don’t need to pack travel adapter. Just push it into Thailand plug with some force and it fits just fine. These details matter when travelling with 10 Kg limit.
As for clothes, I knew it was hot, so I packed those active wear shorts out of synthetic material. With those you don’t sweat much, just don’t wear cotton shirts, you will have sweat marks all over and not a sexy look LOL.
Flight to Singapore was good. 5 hour layover at Singapore. I would have preferred staying a night or two, but SG required pre flight PCR, almost $200 getting that done in Perth. So after some watching Netflix on the airport, off to BKK. At arrival have your document ready, we had to complete an immigration slip, make sure you keep the departure part for when you leave. Have passport ready, Thaipass and all was smooth. Out the door and there were heap of desks with staff. I’ve heard of people call it chaos, not really. Just ask around a few times, the staff direct you. It was then and there I also noticed Thai woman are stunning. More on that later, but, well, they are truly stunning, especially if you like petite and small :)

Well the photos looked a lot nicer LOL. It is a basic 3 star hotel, IMO I would give it 2 stars. It is dated, but the basics are there. Working AC, hot water, comfortable bed and close to transportation.
Regarding transportation, I never booked taxi, motorcycle but used public transport exclusively. There are 3 systems: BTS which is a fast Sky Train, MTS which is underground subway and ARL, Airport Rail Link another Sky Train connecting the airport to the City.
IMO pick something close to a BTS or MTS station. If you just want to buy a single ticket and get to the first hotel, then find one along the ARL, which is what I had. KC Place was close the Airport Link, so I knew it was easy to move onto the next one.
No food was included in the Test and Go package, seems to be an additional perk that some YouTube influencers got and I didn’t check well enough. So I take shower and connect to Wifi. I chose to go without getting a SIM, disconnect a bit, and was perfectly fine. Google maps works still, just download offline maps, it gets the job done with getting you to places and seeing where you are and where you need to walk.
I think I arrived around lunchtime. I had been taking antigen tests the last 3 evenings, to make sure I wouldn’t test positive. Late evening the phone call comes, all good allowed to leave. Heart is racing, now shit got rea. I need to get out and figure out things, also need to book hotel for the next few days. I look a bit on Google maps, ok there are a few seven eleven. Before I continue, Seven 11 is life! They are everywhere and perfect for buying little things. Do try their iced coffee it is fantastic. Also Bangkok is quite modern, your credit card works at many places, most hotels, Seven 11 and many shops. I bought something to drink and some snacks for dinner.
Cash, I needed Cash and research told me to bring AUD and exchange as that avoids the 220 BT ATM fee. However 220 BT is like 8 AUD. I tried both methods, I withdrew 20000 BT from the ATM, around AUD 800, so the 8 AUD fee is like 1%. Later I used Superrich, a recommended currency exchange place. They don’t have fees, their fees are likely baked into the exchange rate. The ATM turned out costing me less, however that was with a week apart, so maybe the exchange rate moved. But basically if you withdraw a large amount from ATM, then the 8 AUD fee is nothing and worked well for me. I kept the cash in hotel safe and carried on my enough for what I thought I would need that day.
I also had a look at the train station, checked out the machine for tickets. You can switch to English and it displays a map. Click on where you want to go and it tells you how much it costs. Easy!
I come back, stuff my face as I was starving, no food since boarding the flight in Perth. Then onto booking the next hotel. KC Hotel is near Ratchaprarop station and from here it just one stop to Phaya Thai, which is a hub that connects BTS with ARL system. So I use Agoda and look for something around Phaya Thai.

I booked online with the phone. Then ran into a snag. Bankwest pops up with a security thing. Please enter SMS code. Bugger, my aussie SIM (Boost) doesn’t have roaming and the VoWiFi technology doesn’t seem to work. Luckily I had Viber App with call out credit, so I could call the Bankwest number on the back of the card. Explained the situation and they turned off SMS authentication. Now I could book the hotel and get good sleep.
For this one I booked breakfast as well. To be honest Hotel breakfast IMO is poor value. Most hotels don’t do buffet anymore, COVID is quoted as reason but I also think it is because not many tourists. This hotel has 4 set menus, some Western food, some Thai food. I tried the 2 Thai options as I was staying only 2 nights. Really enjoyed having rice for breakfast, but the soup didn’t do it for me.
Now this hotel was amazing! Very modern, clean, shiny. Really enjoyed staying here. Big window with a view also. It is super close to BTS, so if you take a girl for long time, perfectly fine to take the BTS, have a bit of a chat and get comfortable. The lobby is on the second floor, so easy to bring her to you room without seeing lobby staff. There is one staff downstairs opening doors, I doubt he will give you hard time, just give him a tip if you want.
So people say the action is around BTS stations Nana and Asok. So I plan the next hotel and this time I want to try a 5 star hotel.

This is a huge skyscraper building. It sits ontop of a mall, Terminal 21 as well as Asok station. It has 2 direct entries to Asok station and the Mall. It was full with Asians, turns out mostly Japanese, many for punting, others because this place seems to be aimed at Japanese, the signage and writing is Japanese for example. Anyway, what a place! The room was fantastic and a view to die for. Even had a washing machine / dryer, so I could wash all my laundry. This place is close enough to the action to just walk home with girls. Walk from Asok to Nana and you will see girls sitting along the street. Look into the side streets and there is more to explore, for example Nana plaza near Nana station and of course Soi Cowboy near Asok station. In hindsight I thought about just camping downstairs in the lobby and keeping an eye out on the girls leaving. That way you don’t have to run around and if you see a stunner, just speak to her right there and then and book for the evening :)
To be this was all a bit to out in the open and not comfortable speaking to the girls while everyone staring at you LOL I muster up the courage a bit later, but next is catching flight to Europe to see family.
That was wonderful, so flying back to Bangkok and staying a few nights before returning to Perth. Had to do another Stay and Go / Thailand pass which was annoying, but what can you do. It seems as of next month it will be much easier…

Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit near Phloen Chit BTS station. That is 1 stop from Nana and 2 stops from Asok, so close enough to walk around and take girls home either via foot or BTS train station. Also a very nice hotel, very modern and can’t go wrong.

This one is located in a side street, but right in between Nana and Asok. You can walk to Nana and Asok comfortably and take home girls on foot. I wanted to spoil myself and booked a suite, these are larger and comes with a bathtub. Also went with breakfast again and here you get a menu with choices, and seems you can order as much as you like. Very clean and has blue LED lights around the bed which is cool. Anyway, this would be the one I would recommend if you want a recommendation. I did take one girl back to this place and wasn’t an issue.
So yea, I’m heading off to Perth soon and still haven’t done any actual punting. Just like my first time punting ever, you just have to get it over with. So I take an afternoon nap and then head out, it might have been 10 pm I think. Quite a few girls, there is a hot spot at the Ruamchitt Hotel / Thermae.
So I walk around, but nothing strikes my eye. Where are the petite girls? They are everywhere in normal life, behind the counter, on subway. Oh also everyone glued to their phones. I expected a bit of interest, but nope, everyone just looking at their phones, that was a bit of a sad one. Anyway none of the girls make my heart skip. Then I spot one that looks cute, but she doesn’t seem interested. Bummer. I am about to give up and go home, then see one that looks nice, not exactly what I was after, but nice and I just want to get it over with. So I speak to her, she is asking for 4000 BT for long time, fine with me, let’s go. She says she will leave at 5am take taxi home and avoid the traffic.
Good thing about long time is you can take your time. Talk a bit, get comfortable, relax a bit. So we talk, then take shower, she washes me and we put on those hotel robes. She had a stunning body and happy with my choice. Sex was ok, nothing special and we go to sleep. I’m having huge smile on my face, glad I’ve ripped off the bandaid and ticked off this bucket list item. I struggled sleeping with her in bed to be honest, although all the belongings are in the safe, I just couldn't relax. So I think if I do it again, try short time and see what that’s like. I’ve also seen many guys with girlfriends, that’s also something that I could see work for me.

Analisa massage Bangkok. They have a website with actual prices and everything. The main thing I wanted was being able to see the girls before booking. A bit sick over the misleading Internet photos. Just let me see the girls up close.
I go there before lunch, usually it is busy in the evening, but I like it when it is a bit quieter. The place is easy walking distance from Nana station. I enter and a lady greets me, gives me a price list. They have many options, I want full service, which is sex, and 2700 gets you 90 minute massage with sex. Done. But not so fast, I ask her to show me the rooms, so we do a short tour and this place reminds of the first hotel. Dated but have AC and shower as well as fresh sheets, all the basics are there. Then she tells me it is her line in the queue or something, well I tell her I want to see all the girls please. Not too many girls there, only 2 others to look at, but the last girl that comes in is EXACTLY what I was looking for. A cute and kind face and petite body. So I go with her.
Take off shoes, get slippers and we go upstairs. I take shower and lie down. And then I got the best experience so far. A massage that starts off relaxing and then slowly turns into sensual. We talk a bit, she worked in Korea for a few years, started working in BKK for 10 days. Is the story true? Who know. Anyway, she knows exactly what she is doing. Very sensual and I enjoy every minute. Sex was also great and here I am, enjoying this beautiful girl in Bangkok, I can hear traffic noise and construction work and this is EXACTLY what I thought “One night in Bangkok” was going to be like.

So yea, Bangkok was great. The food was amazing, even instant noodles taste better! I want to return and try soapy massages, apparently they have a huge line up and I also want to try online booking, it seems this is where things are going, booking girls online. And of course I want to experience other countries and hoping restrictions ease more. Especially the mask requirement is annoying. Also Ladyboys is confusing / annoying LOL always double checking and doubting what you're getting.
