How about this one? I have a colleague whom I've worked with at various other "locations" because it is a very small industry we work in. Almost everywhere she works at, she would have an affair with a guy at that place. Sometimes it is very obvious (eg. Resting her arm on the guy's shoulders in the office, getting physical right there), sometimes it only becomes clear after she's left (guy gets drunk in a Xmas party and boasts about it). Throughout all this, she's always been married and has a kid as well.
I'll be honest, she also tried to put the moves on me at some point but I declined (I had a hot young GF at the time, lol!).
Anyway, fast forward a few years. I bump into this lady again at a big corporate location. She's her usual under-performing self, always on the verge of losing her role and having to move on. We had a Xmas party and I saw in that party she was flirting with a very old guy colleague. I remember thinking, what can she like in that guy?
A few weeks or months later, this lady lodges a sexual harrassment complaint about the old dude. Apparently she put a spell on him and he went nuts spamming her with emails and shit. Now she's got a high-paying job guaranteed for life!
I know, not really a WL story, but the shit this lady has been doing makes her even worse than WLs. At least WLs make an honest living selling their services (most of the time).
Survival of the fittest I guess, she knows shes not great at her job, but used her other skills to ensure she and her family are set for life.
Guys need to get better about detecting this kinda shit, I've heard similar stories from friends.
It happens in every industry and is much more common than people realise.
The poor old guy was struggling with some family issues at the time, so maybe he saw it as a way to de-stress, lol. Besides, I'm the only person in my department who knows of this lady's "colourful" past. I'm a bit of a "journeyman" so I move around companies a lot.
Don't get me wrong, I'm actually benefiting from the situation because said lady still has a soft spot for me. Just that everytime she makes a "contribution" in meetings, it's downright cringeworthy how badly she's out of her depth.
She'll be alright though... A first class fake-it-til-you-make-it proponent, she is!
