I remember some Chinese friends telling me that the Chinese euphemism for a hornbag is "colourful wolf". I guess that might be why everything is wolf.

The trouble with punting lingo is it is so full of slang words, it is almost laughable to see any translation attempt. Really, it applies to any language.
You're right about that hornbag analogy. Try translating hornbag to Chinese, you will laugh.
Sometimes WeChat gives weird translations, so I copy the text across to Google Translate for a second opinion, usually gets more coherent result.
Also I see that WeChat now gives a privacy warning when I try "people nearby". Result is a lot less hits for an area; are girls turning it off between uses now?

Yeah, I found a couple, but it is hard to tell what the girls are looking for. But I've had quite a few contact me, with good outcomes. Mainly tourists looking for a fling with an Aussie, but that had dried up now.
Last year I had my nearby showing and I got a few new contacts, some looking for friendship, some ladies as shops were closed, which was great.
Now it is a lot harder to find anything.

It used to show many girls when u search nearby, now only 3-5 people. Is there a reason for this? Or people just don’t use wechat anymore?
I get a "security message" every time I open up People Nearby which suggests people should switch off their location data when they are not using the app. They must be taking it seriously.
