Yeah same for me it is too far but I have seen them both at N5M before lockdown.
And for your second part of the question, I personally never seen any police in my area checking where I am coming from and going to (north shore). Had to go to city once and had to take the train, again no police in sight. I think they are / were mainly busy around LGA of concerns and on the weekend blocking the roads to the city.
I can see why they're your favourite.
