I agree don’t get me wrong the Star Buffet is amazing but if you want it to be a bit more intimate with her the Seafood Platter at Sea Level Cronulla is amazing with beautiful views on the water and they will do a platter for her only if need be reasonably priced and she will never foget it IMO.

Thanks for everyone's input! Didn't think so many ppl would comment. Yeah nah my girl cares about the food more than the setting.

I think I'm gonna pick Sheraton (if covid settles down). Still have a month before the actual date. Sheraton looks pretty decent and seating doesn't look as crowded as Crown.

Yes, and sometimes you think you're getting abalone but instead you get sea urchin.

I went to a seafood buffet at a pub in Manly, it was also serving Sashimi, there was a bowl of Wasabi close by when this dope in front of me took a huge scoop of it onto a cracker thinking it was guacamole dip, the reaction and the aftermath was worth the price of admission alone....

Are we still talking seafood, or have we descended into euphemisms again?

Hahaha, that would've been priceless to watch! I almost did something similar. Sat down at a sushi Bar in Tokyo. There was a big tub of green looking powder, soy sauce, small sauce plates, cups and a hot water tap in front of me. So I took the sauce plate, heaped some green powder into it, and was about to pour soy sauce onto it when the sushi guy stopped me and said "That's green tea powder, sir!".
I think my face turned redder than the tuna!

I did the exact same thing in Osaka but no one stopped me.

I found out the hard way it was macha powder and the water from the little tap was boiling hot.

I just pretended like nothing happened.

The food was amazing but the place I was at was pricey.

I remember when the Fish Markets were packed. I haven't been there in so long.

Still busy enough but nowhere near as busy as they used to be when there were dozens of bus loads of tourists every day.
    It's actually much nicer now.
Actually now that we are out of lockdown is a good time to get around Sydney again.
Places are much less packed and less stressful without all the swarms of tourists everywhere.

You can't fault the Harvest buffet at the Star. Lots to eat but it can get very crowded and many families turning up with kids. The Crown Casino is supposed to be classy but this is why the price is more than the Star. I recall the Shangri-La use to have a good seafood buffet. It wasn't a very large venue so it was ideal for two people. I'm not sure if the hotel has brought back the buffet.

Went there a few times with an old gf about 20 years ago. Been wondering whether it was still going when this thread came up.

It has been a Quarantine place since last year. Don't know current status.

No chance, the best seafood Buffett in Sydney all time was at the Shangri la and when it was called the ANA it had the best Japanese restaurant in Sydney Unki.
