Wow that's quite a time sink for a hobby. How often do you clean it?
Personally I find gardening to soothe the itch/pass the time as a good contender. You learn shit, get some Vitamin D, burn off calories and end of the season, even eat for free depending on what you've planted.

Yeah, this is me. Or worse, I don't intend to go punting, see something on the forum and then end up going punting.

I think I need to buckle down and just not visit the forum for a couple of days and distract myself with other hobbies. Thanks again for the feedback, everyone.
    Good luck matey!

Interesting thread lads, kudos to Mr Virgileco for initiating the discussion.

There’s much debate amongst behavioural psychotherapists on this topic. Suffice to say there is disagreement between academics as to what are routines, rituals, habits, vices, and addictions but all agree that they can be positive or negative. Most of what has been discussed by the members potentially falls into routines, rituals, habits and/or vices. Addiction involves deeper and complex psychological and physiological aspects. In terms of sex addiction, nymphomania and satyriasis this is now referred to as hypersexuality disorder.

Psychotherapists say the seven hardest addictions to break is cocaine, alcohol, heroine, nicotine, junk food, gambling and sex/pornography. The severity is determined by how destructive the effect of the addiction has on the well being ie things like health, lifestyle, finances, mental health, relationships, self-esteem etc

Either way if you think you have an addiction I suggest you seek help and recommend the following - Lifeline Australia, MensLine Australia, Beyond Blue, RuOk etc

COVID lockdown was definitely what broke the addiction for me

It is a lot healthier for me now, I was spending around $1K a week on WLs pre covid

Addictions means you spend more time and money than your means allow so as long as you are not sacrificing yourself in order to get a punt then you are ok right?

Hmm, I'd say I was addicted to it but I don't let it control my life. I can stop when I want and restart when I feel the need although access to money means that it is less so but doesn't stop me obsessing over the next punt.

Used to be, then excitement of what could happy fizzled down, coupled with piss poor punts on the b/g of bs reviews, lead to my recovery. lol.
I occasionally feel the urge to go, especially after recreational chems, but I remind myself that talent has faded in the market and the money is best left in the pocket.
Wouldn't spend more than what I was comfortable spending, however, it hurts a little after post-nut clarity.

What is the chord sequence of one of your favourite pieces you used to play?

Right now I want to reduce to once a month. Yes even with once a week I do feel like I’m addicted, constantly looking at roaster throughout the week and plan my next trip. I mean I’m constantly looking at this forum for new ideas as well. Maybe reduce phone time on their WeChat and websites.
Agree I think if you punt once a week then you are addicted, I would say the overwhelming majority of ppl on this site are.

Would it still be counted as an addiction if i go every week or fortnightly, but I was on top of financials? I always side some money every pay slip for "entertainment". I could obviously use that money for other things. I'm still relatively new to the punting scene so whos to say I've become an addict . Coming from a guy who has no commitments

Eh, as long as they're not neglecting themselves or their dependants and live within their means, chase whatever hobby your heart desires.
If you're not eating enough during the week so you can see your favourite WL, then you have a problem.

Lol what? Did they say something along the lines of "No I don't want your money once a week Candy, even though I know what you like and am comfortable comforting you"? But then again she could be really caring for you even to her own detriment..

StiFFFy man, not exactly along those lines but in a way kinder lol. Surprise! I’m sure she’ll do ok with less of my coins anyway. I guess maybe I’m at that age where I supposed to settle down and make babies as society expect us to do. She probably thinks I should focus on that? Maybe?

I am not approaching it from a monetary perspective I can easily afford 2-3 Punts a week. It’s more the time spent hunting it down lining it up, going through your wechat list pics websites what’s new etc etc. just because you can afford something it doesn’t mean you are not addicted, I wouldn’t classify it as a hobby either.

I love fucking tight young pussy, can’t see that changing
