people are testing positive on RATs and self isolating with out reporting to avoid hospital isolation... its expected the government are going to update the rules in the coming week.

The issue isn't really the likelihood of getting covid, you can get covid anywhere.
There are three issues for me.
If you do get covid and there are complications you would rather be here in Australia with support of family and friends and access to our hospital system, rather than stuck in Thailand.
The hassles involved when you get there and when you come try to come back, and all the rules you have to follow. And the fact those rules can change overnight and ruin your holiday.
Most importantly for me the fact that you can't have a good time like you used to in Thailand.
Many bars, Go Gos, Walking St etc are closed, many of best the girls have gone back to the villages, there are lots of restrictions on drinking, socialising etc.
If you really need a Thailand fix then yeah go for it and all the best, but I reckon it's worth waiting for now.

I agree, I am planning a longish trip just in case.
But am hoping the rules get relaxed by then...

I am going to head to Bangkok and Pattaya early March, from some of the videos I've seen, its no where near like to the good old days. Mainly going to see my Aussie mates and have a laugh but will get some nice Thai pussies whist I am at it.

Not much happening at Soi Cowboy in Bangkok and Walking Street Pattaya. There are many freelancers on the streets of Bangkok and bar girls in the side streets. The latest clips show more activity in Patong than in Pattaya.

    Thanks for the headsup.
That's my read of the scene as well.
I have never liked pattaya that much, nor even patong.
I prefer the quieter punting scenes in Thailand, like Hua Hin, Samui, and southern areas of Phuket.
Strangely tho, I do enjoy my nights in sukhumvit in Bangkok...

You can't beat Sukhumvit in Bangkok for nightlife, bars, restaurants and of course many girls!

Any reports from the field now that Level 4 restrictions are in place?
