Have there been a lot of returning overseas students from Asian countries?

I have been in the city near QVB and Chinatown, walking along George St a few times and I just feel that there are a lot more young Chinese girls speaking mandarin and Cantonese, am I imagining ??

I think you are dreaming because it's more likely the girls that were indoors most times are starting to venture outside. These young beauties need to socialise and go out. They can't play with themselves at home.

In terms of tourists arriving in Australia between July 2018 and June 2019, the figures were:-

    China 15.4% (over 1.3 million)
    NZ 14.8% (1.27 million)
    US 8.9% (over 763000)
    UK 7.8% (over 673000)
    Japan 5.2% (over 445000).

Over one third of our international tourists came from China and NZ.
At the moment, tourists from NZ, Singapore, South Korea and Japan are exempt from restrictions when arriving in Australia.

Over 50,000 students have arrived in Australia since December, so around half of those would land in Sydney and quite a few of those would be Chinese. So yeah, it might start to be noticeable

Just hope 5% are ' English studies students'.
That's all we need so we can have new stock in the shops.

I think the reason for NZ and Japanese tourist is also they are close to Aus. I think people in Asia may want to come but for them Aus is a very expensive place. The exchange rate is a killer. The stare premiers behaving like kids will not give confidence to many tourist. If I was looking to holiday in Aus I would not come here all the way and only spend the holiday in NSW. Would you? We are waiting for Asia to open up so we can travel there. None of us is taking about going to WA.

Looking at the geopolitics I reckon prepare for an influx of blonde buxom Ukrainian girls later on this year and sexy Taiwanese girls next year.

Does anyone here have an Intel on when unvaccinated Australian citizens are allowed in without having to hotel quarantine? Or when home quarantine will replace hotel quarantine as it's basically redundant now that it's so common to have had COVID?

Weddings and birth rates are down in Australia thanks to covid and lockdowns (that have achieved little). The girls would be a boost if more married Aussies here.

There was a scene in the Ali G movie where he is the immigration minister and he is at the airport selecting who to let in, and he only lets the hot young chicks in.
That should be Australia's immigration policy.
Fuck the White Australia Policy, I say we have the Hot Australia Policy.

The Ukrainian babes are hotter. Taller, beautiful and light skin.

Classic. I’m all for East Europeans.

Although I’ve found Czechs love anal and Poles don’t. A generalization of course, but enough experience with both to wonder if there is any truth to it.

I can't wait for NZ to remove it's restrictions so I can visit friends in Sydney again. From the 28th Feb we're going to be allowed to leave NZ to fly to AU and come back but still need to self isolate for 7 days coming back.

IKEA always attracts a lot of Asians. More likely to be PRs, rather than recently arrived students.

It will take a few weeks before we see any real numbers of newbies here.

Thank goodness that we are finally going to get some variation and competition for the dollar. The recent increases in prices being asked by ML for extras will find their natural balance and no doubt reduce to where they were pre-covid days. BRING IT ON.
