Do you reckon brothels and rnt places will start charging more once new airport opens up? It will start getting quit busy and this might also give opportunities for new shops to open.
Geez bro, you really do plan your punting ahead.
It's not gonna open for another 5 years.
Enjoy your punting now bro, we could all be dead in 5 years time.
In that area or in Sydney?
I doubt people will be flying into Sydney to stay around that area. The amount of people coming into Sydney pre covid wasn't limited by the amount of flights.
So no, zero impact
I like your idea - tradies who are building the infrastructure now can start using the facilities first.
New shops opening might increase market competition and help keep a lid on pricing.
St Marys will be a short train ride away, if passngers want to get away from the sterility of an airport.
The place is still farm land now. One of the proposed stops before the airport is Luddenham, which is nothing but cows and grass now. How did Sydney Metro’s modelling justify a station there? Much of the land has been bought up by Chinese developers who will no doubt build apartments there soon.
On any airport metro line, about 50% of the patrons are airport workers. I guess they will need a quick rub and tug just like the rest of us. The good thing is that it will be a 24-hour airport, so if you’re feeling horny at 2.30am in August 2026, you might be able to get a release. Just look for the flashing “MASSAGE” LED sign on the front window. The toothless Asian granny in her nightie will open the door to give you a nice sloppy BBBJ
There will be nothing upmarket about Greater Western Sydney and Badgerys Creek - KFC and Dunkin’ Donuts will be as classy as it gets.
Shall we ask some Melbourne people instead, they have an airport at Avalon? Also out in no man’s land. What’s the situation there as far as punting goes could easily be repeated in Western Sydney ?
more than anything i can see higher end private escorts moving into the market place, when international hotels become operational, but what it really comes down too what international flights will actually land at Badger's Creek
I reckon that whole airport and area would just be a depressing place to be at with zero punting action. It’s out in no man’s land and Sydney is far from being a “travel hub”. To get that designation, you’d need to be in a region where there are actually many other onward destinations. Where can you go to from Sydney internationally? New Zealand? That’s about it right? So forget about the whole travel hub idea, it’s a gimmick.
Then we’re left with genuine international arrivals. After a gruelling minimum 6 hour flight, do you seriously think they’re gonna be game for some balling? Keep in mind, 6 hours is from the nearest international port which itself is a gentleman’s playground. No mate, they go straight to the sack after they hit the tarmac.
All the businesses that are expected to set up in the area will attract a lot of domestic working visitors so there would be a market for local hotels. International visitors would come to the area by transfer from Mascot and stay in the area, even if there are no direct international flights.
The only way to get a root or HJ at Avalon is to drive into Geelong before 7.00pm when everything shuts.
The people at Badgerys Creek would need to get to St Marys where there’s the famous Viet rub and tug joint, plus a few more Chinese and Thai massage shops.
There will be nothing glamourous about Badgerys Creek. It will mainly serve the low cost airline and pleb market.
