I had to check several trusted news sources just to make sure it’s true.
Two Aussie legends gone in 24 hours.
Marsh going was sad, but Warney fuck that’s a real shock and a real tragedy.
As a cricketer absolutely no doubt about his status as one of the greatest of all time.
As a person he could be a bit of a tool and a yob, but there was something real and genuine about him which was so refreshing in this era of so much filtered and sanitised bullshit.
I remember he was commentating the cricket once and spent half his stint totally ignoring the game and going on about how much he loves meat pies, the right temperature they should be at, how to eat them, the texture etc. Only Warney could get away with that.
RIP Warney, you’re a legend mate.

Fovourite Warney story, said to originate with Michael Bevan. The Oz team was on tour and as was usual there were a lot of nubile young female groupies. Warney complained that although he did all the talking his best mate, Mark Waugh always ended up with the best girl. Warne added that twice already on tour, Mark had turned up for breakfast with the best girl. Ever Mr cool, Mark said nothing. At breakfast the next morning Warney complained to his teammates that the girls they were chatting up the previous evening had shot through. Then Mark walked in: with both girls, one on each arm.
Michael Bevan claimed it was the only time known that Warney was completely lost for words.

I saw a video posted on you tube of Shane giving a great wrap to the Aussie Women's cricket team a few hours before his death, he looked very lean and healthy...RIP
Couldn’t believe it when I heard the news this morning. A great reminder to all of us to live like today could be our last day.
Warnie alienated some people but it was refreshing to have a guy like him in our cricket team. Loved a drink, smoke and a good time. Truly one of the boys. And a hell of of good cricketer.
Same with Marshie. He was my boyhood idol. His contribution both on and off the field was massive.
Two true blue Aussie legends who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. RIP
