Funny stories/Has anyone ever thought of starting a brothel?

I like to write and thought it would be a good idea for a novel. Innocent guy just divorced from his first/only girlfriend gets into punting and for whatever reason decides to try and start a brothel. Could make for a very funny sexy tv series. So I’m wondering if anyone has funny/memorable punting stories or details about running a brothel/what issues could arise. For example; I had a friend who started a tattoo shop in west Sydney get threatened by bikies for opening on their territory, is the sex industry similar? Does the owner try the girls out?

first thing i would do is read up on the NSW Brothel Regulations,
than check with local council regulations
than make shore you meet all the regulations before you apply for a licence,

also i found out a Small (1 or 2 sex workers) brothels are exempt from holding a licence but must register with the BLA and hold a local council planning permit. Advertising is legal with the licence number given by the BLA. Operating an unlicensed brothel and soliciting in a public place are illegal. local council planning approval.7 Aug 2015
that's why you find a lot of massage shops next to train stations only have 2 girls working.

lets look at the negatives, girls not turning up to shifts, extortion from gangsters, violent punters, getting robbed, constantly being inspected to make shore you are not breaking any of the regulations and getting fined or shut down.
in terms of the business being profitable for the owner, it depends on the set up costs, rent, and daily expenses, location and compertition,
also dealing with the girls mentality when they don't want to sleep with a punter but complain they don't make any money.
in terms of the business being fun and games, i think the novelty will wear off very quickly especially when it comes down to your financial future being put at risk,

so overall i can think of other business to set up without the dramas,

Buy an existing licensed brothel that is badly run but in a good location
Then look for a well connected very good manager ( Jesse ex 42g) and pay them well
Computer system... CCTV...market it properly
Look after the girls....they'll look after the punters

Someone was planning to start a brothel and was in the look out of acquiring an existing premises. There were lot of suggestions on that thread!

But OP is asking for ideas to write a book/comedy series.

labia Vortex has a great idea, but you still need to go through all the proper procedures to become the licence holder and don't forget the ATO guidelines you need to follow too

First client rolls in, looks at the sub-par line up and decides to walk.
He tries persuade him to take a punt, eventually paying for the guy to root the girl. Guy looks at girl and looks at him. Questions whether he'd root the girl. He looks apologetically at the girl and concedes that he wouldn't.

Remember years ago when the kids store Toys"R"us finally opened in Australia, after being huge in the U.S. I was watching an Aussie movie and 2 guys were discussing potential names for a brothel if they ever went into that line of business. One suggestion was Cunts"R"us.
For some reason, that is the only bit in the whole movie that I can recall. 😀

I’ have a drink with 1 owner occasionally , early this year I was asked if I wanted to buy in. Smaller brothel typically 4-6 on roster . Mix of mainly lovely thai, some nice though sub par Oz born women and occasionally more Recently, African /Indian .

The take for each partner was 200k. The girls, were making a lot more.

partner who wanted out … was asking for 500k for 50% share. Given the inherent biz risk, lack of marketing , a worn Fitout , Covid , staff shortages and issue in recruiting , would you think the arm chair valuation makes sense and their books were as you would expect larfable
