Just as a word of caution if you are traveling in Asia and think of using WeChat.
You will find it is used very differently for punting in the different countries.
In China, its home, it is very heavily used for everything.
So the people nearby feature is almost useless for punting.
In Thailand, it is used reasonably a lot for punting, tho LINE is used more,
But, it is most heavily by ladyboys, and less so by ladies.
In Cambodia it is used heavily for punting.
But very very heavily for scams and ladyboys, and bait and switch.
In Vietnam it is used for punting reasonably so, and has limited risk issues.
Tho they mainly use Zalo and Viber.
I don't know about Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore usage...
