I understand why fellow punters prefer to uphold privacy. In reality most shops and ladies probably could care less about what your actual name / details are.

MY experience HERE, after several months of some pretty strenuous exercise, a large number of repeats, while I do call them by name, I've NEVER been called by name, either at reception or in the room. Well, unless my name is Baby, Darling,... or You, especially the last (as in Hi, how are You?) She definitely recognizes me, but "name"? I mean, it's not like she's going to have to introduce me to anyone...

MLs are very discrete, and would like their job and private life to remain separate . They are probably more worried about getting exposed than you are.

Agreed. IF you happened to pass on the street, in a shop, her heart would be beating faster than yours, and not in a good way. There's civilian life and business life, 2 SEPARATE entities... A business acquaintance is NOT a friend. Seniors know this, some young punters not.
