    STI home test kits

Has anyone tried the STI home test kits available online? Not the ones you send off to labs, but the ones that give results in 15 minutes. And why can't we buy them at pharmacies?

Highly unlikely. Just go to a doctor. Get a blood test done and urine in the cup first thing in the morning. Results come out within 3 days.

Why DIY home test kit though?

He doesn't want to go on the STI register maybe? That's a bit of a hassle actually.

The answer is that I'm married and going to a GP appears on your myGov history. An over the counter self test kit would be a solution. You can google them - they claim 99% accuracy in 15 minutes. But it seems they need to be purchased online. However there are a few pharmacies selling HIV home test kits, but I'm more interested in the lower grade STIs.

If you go to a different GP one of the questions they will ask is whether or not you want to have your results reported to My health. Just say no.

If you want complete privacy then Gooogle sexual health clinic. They are completely anonymous. You get a number, call them back in a few days and quite the number.

Dude - for fucks sake...fuck the GP or the DIY home self test kit (this is not a fucking Covid RAT test) and go straight to a sexual health clinic. You don't need a Medicare card and there's no record register linkage to MyGov. These clinics and docs specialise only in STIs/STDs not fucking general health problems. Call them up and make an appointment - they'll ask you a few questions etc. the busy clinics may ask for a doctors referral, the less busy ones you book directly over the phone and just rock up on the day.

For peace of mind go for the works ie blood, urine, swab tests and a thorough visual check of your genitalia....ask them to test for every STI/STD known to man. You'll feel on top of the world if all the results come back as negative. If one or several come back back as positive, take your medicine like a man, learn from your ways and take hold of your proclivities.

Note: If you're a player, a seasoned/casual punter, or a sexual athlete performing at your peak, you should consider regular/annual sexual health checks.

One thing to bear in mind is that these clinics tend to have a preference for gays and SW as those are the most at-risk members of the population. If they say that you're better off going to a GP just say that you're a closeted individual. If you want the throat swab, just say you swallow cock.

This is a load of horse shit. It's quite obvious you haven't visited any/many sexual health clinics.
These clinics get funding like any other public service entity, if they don't meet targets they stand to lose gov funding, may get closed down, amalgamated with other dept, cut down on office hours etc
They need to treat and educate customers/patients to remain relevant. The doctors understand and treat STI/STDs every day of the fucking year. They've seen it and have heard it all before.

You certainly have strong opinions. Try Clinic 16 in St Leonard's or the sexual health clinic in Sydney Hospital. To be fair, your first post here was about trying to get with the boy-san so you may have inadvertently been one of their focus clients.

So out of 12-15 clinics in Sydney you go and pick the worst 2....it shows your form.
Do your homework just like you do with punting, try a few clinics and pick one that ticks all your boxes and then become a regular. It's not that fucking hard!

Sexual health clinic will not accept request like this. They do assessment over the phone to start and see if you qualify for an appointment. Once you are there, depends on the symptoms u have then they will test what is the likely illness. They will 100% reject your request to test all STI/STD. Everytime they emphasise sex health clinic is for the ones most in need. They will even tell you to go to your GP for the follow up test. Their pathology resources is quite limited.

To OP, just google it and there are plenty of self paid test available online.

Grateful for the info on clinics. Yes aware of the tests online, interested if anyone's tried them? Also would need to get them deliverwd to work which is a little odd, but have done the same for Viagra so could work. Just can't understand why they can't be bought over the counter.

I got a great clinic that comes under the NSW Health umbrella. When I book they just ask my date of birth. Seen a couple of different nurses but now just stick to one that I feel completely comfortable with. She does full check up of blood, urine and inspection if I want. Never asks person questions, nor judges if I devolve personal information. Feel lucky to have this place now.

In Australia we have one of the best health systems in the world.
Just go to your local GP.
Australia is not America, and Australia is not Iran, and Australia is not India.
Australia is a highly civilised country. Take advantage of our brilliant health system.

To be sold over the counter needs TGA approval, just like the 001 condoms. Doesn't mean they don't work without the TGA logo.

I tried these once but they expect you to ram a giant cotton swab deep in your urethra. I did my best, mainly because I'd already spent the damn money to buy the kit, but there's no fucking way I'm ever going through the pain of that dry rough cotton in my pee-hole again!
