We would go to McDonald's, get ice creams or mcflurry's (she paid every time) and snuggle up in my backseat. She taught me some basic Chinese and I learnt a lot of other things from her, as she was about 10 years or so older than I was. After three months she just disappeared, phone disconnected and Roger (if anyone remembers) told me she had gone back to HK as her visa had run out.
During that time I would also be a customer, I'd go to Brodie St once a week or so to see her and book a couple of hours.
Looking back on this I think she valued having some type of contact with a man that wasn't completely sexual, and she must have been really lonely being in this country, sharing a house with strangers/other WL's. Every time I picked her up from her place I'd get out of the car and she'd run into my arms.
These are good memories, but there is that part of me that wishes she'd stayed in contact (perhaps she cut it off for my own good, who knows?) or at least said goodbye.
