I wanted to give myself a special treat this week, I had the time lined up and had a list of options to fill that time as long as Gene Simmonds tongue. I was all set, nothing could go wrong I thought. Famous last words.
As I waited for rosters to be released for the day I headed off to the gym and got a good solid workout in. Took a shower, freshened up and set about booking my day. I contacted shop 1, home to my first 3 choices.
"I'll take girl X at y o'clock thanks."
"Sorry brother she's booked out."
"Oh, no worries I'll take girl z then."
"She's called in sick, not coming."
Fuck
"OK, how about girl Y?"
"Starts late today."
3 strikes, my first 3 choices all off the table. That's cool, I had a contingency plan. Contacted another shop.
"Hey can I book (girl) today?"
"So sorry, she had an emergency can't come."
Cue eye twitch.
4 out of 4 so far.
No problem still, I had 2 more back ups, and contacted that shop.
"Are either A or B available?"
"Sorry not available today."
Oh for fucks sake are you shitting me???
6 out of fucking 6 unavailable?
I had one last card up my sleeve otherwise I was compromising and defeated the purpose of this punt.
"Hi, is (girl) available today?"
"She come late, 6pm."
And with that, I was done, I had to be somewhere at 6pm. I had given myself a 6 hour window to punt in and NONE of my 7 choices were available for a multitude of reasons. I placed my phone down and walked away. 7 girls across 4 establishments all unavailable.
Some days shit just doesn't go your way...

Had a similar blue balls experience last week when I was looking for first punt of 2023.
Message shop and ask who is available at 8pm. Agree to a girl, head on out there.
Get there a bit early and ask if girl is ready now? Still with customer so all good wait in the car.
Head in at 8 and told couple more mins, so shown to room and asked to wait. Sat there like an idiot for 20 mins so I go and check wants going on. Customer extended for another 30 mins. Ok see you later.
Thought I'd try another nearby shop for first time. Send WeChat message, no response. Call shop mobile on the way there, no response. Call landline no response.
By this time I'm at the shop. There's someone talking trash out the front as I look for parking. Park the car, ring the bell, no response. After a min ring the bell no response. Ring it again no response. Call the landline, can hear the phone ringing, no response.
Shop was definitely open. Security bars closed but door behind opened, lights on, music playing and I'm staring at reception desk.
Was looking to try both shops for first time but took it as a sign it wasn't my night so just headed back home. Good times.
Correct. Most of my punting is done on the fly, where when and if I have time. I had set parameters I was going to be working with regards to looks, services and nationalities were really my only variable. I had some recommendations from guys on here that seemed to fit my bill and I trusted their views as we seem to share similar tastes. So I out the cue in the rack and walked away, it clearly wasn't going to be my day.
@ cocktopus Jesus, again you probably dodged a bullet on the second one, first one is a pain in the arse and brings up the old "booking vs extension" debate. Sounds like a shitshow nonetheless.

I know what you're saying, I mean it was pure luck I found my top 2 of all time, but sadly my recent experiences have been more miss than hit.
And there are a couple of shop owners who, if they read this, would probably be standing with their arms crossed, tapping their foot saying "I didn't get no call muthfucka", but as I said, what I was after that day was specific.
Many shops especially the well known ones prefer bookings. If a shop takes a booking then it should honour it. If they allow a customer to extend despite another customer having a booking then it means they don't care about good service and treating all customers equally. It's all money to them. Best to avoid such places.
This type of punting mishap happens to all of us from time to time when things just dont line up.

Look I'm highly sceptical of the idea of fate, and dont believe in superstitions, I don't believe drinking the blood of virgins keeps you young or anything, I just like the taste, but to me that was simply a message that it just wasn't going to be my day, so find something else to do and try again another day.

The worst session where i truly thought the punting gods were against me was on the way to my regular ML 3-4 ATMs i visited in shops and servos were all out of order. I had to go into the next suburb over into a Westfields to find a working ATM to make a withdrawal. At this point i was almost tempted to just try the shops in this area but decided to roll back to where i originally wanted to go only to find my regular ML was off sick and the rest were all busy.
Decided to just go home and buy some Bitcoin with the money only to have the value of it drop by 20% and then more by the end of the week.
