I heard (via ML comms) that there was a police raid around Ipswich yesterday, can anyone confirm?

In other shop news, 25 @ Labrador was the target of an attempted arson one night this week. Owner locked up and shortly after someone in a hoodie lobbed a Molotov cocktail at the back door. Amateur hour though as it only landed on the concrete floor and no damage was done. Footage is on Channel 7 Facebook page.

The review into the prostitution laws are due in the next month or so.

I'd expect lots of police activity to justify that police involvement in licencing, monitoring etc is required. Got to make sure that the law makers are aware at how "bad" the situation is and it'll get worse if it is changed.

There will be a WG on every corner, like there is with McDonalds. Maybe it's a nw buisness model for McD, "would you like a BJ with that?"

It would be good if they change the laws so its the same as NSW. no need for covert reviews and much better service and prices then

Let's clarify the meaning of "raid".

A visa compliance check is just a sensible part of doing business in Aust.

A "raid" should at least have a "search warrant" and actual detectives. And the temporary closure of the business.

What doesn't constitute a raid in these forums are :

    Work visa checks
    ATO tax compliance checks
Some sex worker group visiting to drop leaflets

And a raid wouldn't take 5 days of rumour to find out if it actually happened. It would be on the news as QPS would want to leverage for all it's worth.

so in reality, business as usual.

There are drug dealers all over town that operate with QPS knowing they are operating. I think their priority should be that and the youth crime.
