Punting while on the booze?

Who else has a few b4 they go out to punt?
Or do any of you insist on going sober and why?

I always have to have at least a few beers, 3-4 but not more than a six pack some hours before I go out to punt. I find it helps me relax and generally does not interfere with my performance (which is enhanced by 100mg of V).

I’ve similarly fucked well without problems after a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. But a bottle of champagne I’ve found is not the best as it goes to the head.

Anyway, what’s your experience with alcohol when punting?

I tend not to drink before a punt because I drive and I like to feel in control of myself. Plus I find beer makes me bloat so would make it less fun.

Have tried it out on the nose beers in my younger days which just meant I went hard for the full hour if not longer.

I’ve had a few WL friends comment it is either really easy if the punter is drunk as they are easy to lead unless they get stubborn then they are painful. She even mentioned one that was so drunk he just shit himself and passed out.

Only water before a punt for me, to make sure I'm well hydrated. Or pineapple juice if I think there's a chance of CIM.
Alcohol may help to calm nerves and increase confidence but it doesn't help performance, and too much can result in unpleasantness for all concerned.

I definitely last longer when punting on a few drinks. But it can be risky. Most wild punt of my life was a drunk one at 102 Liverpool where Mimi (pre-boob job) did a sneaky FS on me
