Depending on the place this is my approach as well.
I've never been turned down. You may not get the full menu sometimes as some places only offer that to returning customers.

Beyond me why people with that attitude go to MASSAGE shops, and not to a brothel or private 'escort', where you don't have to pay for a massage you don't want, where there is a proper bed, shower, more privacy and discretion, and where usually you can be certain of the outcome - unless you have some rather unusual hobbies.
