I find that full effect lasts at least a few hours, and kicks in around the 1hr mark, but there is certainly a lingering effect even out to the next morning if I use it around lunchtime or later.

it depends on you and how much you take.
I will take say roughly 30mg (1/3 tab) for a normal punt.
BUT if I know What I am actually getting, I might take upto 200mg (2 tabs).

Yes, Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, Stendra, all are great. I ordered a batch of generic Levitra and started using them from January this year. I found them to be better than Viagra. Faster acting, lasts longer, but same side effects and costs about 20% more than Viagra of equivalent dosage.
How long it lasts depends on a lot of factors. Your body mass is the main factor. If you're a bigger guy, 100mg will probably go for a bit less than the 4hrs as written on the box. The next big factor is what you do with your body after taking it. These meds are passed out of your body mainly through poo, with a smaller percentage through pee. That means if you take diuretics and wee a lot after taking them, you will reduce the period of effectiveness.
About high doses, there's a sub-community out there that is obsessed with ultra high doses. There's a "superman combo", high dose Cialis + high doses of Viagra closer to the action. That's crazy, but you can understand why it's called "superman combo", lol!

Could you share which site you order from. Recently started with viagra, got them from regular gp, got the generic which work for me. Prescribe the 12 pack for 2 repeats. Cost $19.99 at chemist warehouse. Anyone got more than 2 repeats. Since most gp visits are no longer bulk bill. Would like to save what I can for the punt.
For pills, I use ozmedsdirect. For gels, I use kamagraoioioi. You could get cheaper options out there with more choices (for newer meds like Stendra) but I stick to these 2 because they've been reliable.

I've use both viagra and sidnedafil (ie generics) and both are much of a muchness.
The generic brand is a fraction of the price of V, and the generics I get have scores/grooves so you can easily snap the pill into halves or quarters (unlike the Pfizer equivalent)
Pfizer doesn't want you to cut your pills. If you want 50mg, they want you to buy 50mg pills instead of buying 100mg and cutting them in half, so they can make more money. They even made the pills in such a shape it's not so easy to cut exactly in half.
Viagra should have a half life of about 4 hours. This means after 4 hours, the active component should have reduced by half. If you still have effects the next morning, then you could likely take a smaller dose or your body doesnt metabolise it well which could be a sign of a liver or other issue, genetics or something else.
