How is the number of views on each Thread being tallied

In the old forum, each time you visited or revisited a thread, the number of views went up, so if you are having some conversation or arguments with other brothers, the number of views went up very quickly.

I just notice that in the new forum if I went back to the same forum to view other brothers' reply and/or post a new reply myself, the no. of views does not go up. Can Admin please advise how does this work here??

The view statistic will be updated every hour - by default

I have just changed it to every 30 mins

But more frequent the updates run, that will affect the performance.

thats why we have to keep monitor the site performance at this early stage
and not recommend to set too frequent at this stage

Thanks for clearing that, now I understand, the old forum did update the stats instantly and that's probably why we had the time out problem, update every 30 min is good enough now that we know how it works
