Police are investigating the death of a man who was found injured at a brothel in Sydney's west, after a possible stabbing.

Officers were called to the brothel in George Street, Clyde, which is in an industrial estate, about 5.45am today after a man was injured.

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service of NSW said they were called after reports of a stabbing and the man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

He died at the hospital a short time later, police said.

Police are now investigating the circumstances of the man's death and are being assisted by the Homicide Squad.

The following article from the Daily Telegraph puts this untimely/unfortunate death into more perspective. It was not a punter

A BROTHEL owner's boyfriend has been fatally stabbed inside the business he has run for the past few years.

Police said the man, believed to be aged in his 40's, was found critically injured inside the Clyde brothel, just before 6am today.

He was rushed to hospital suffering multiple stab wounds, but died a short time later.

Police are treating his death as murder.

Friends of the man said he was operating the business which his Chinese-born girlfriend opened some years ago with her ex-husband.

It is understood several female workers were inside the George St premises when the stabbing happened.

They are now helping police with enquiries.

A crime scene has been set up, as police try to determine what happened in the brothel in the lead up to the altercation.

But why are punters targeted anyway? What's the reason? It's just being at wrong place at the wrong time

Its the reception or owner's boyfriend that was murdered.

I think it maybe just an unhappy or drunk customer (punter) who stabbed the owner receptionist.

Hmm....too much alcohol fueled violence. I guess its just about being cautious and calculating what time you're going.

It's not something that can be controlled, but at least you can prevent it or lessen the chances

Do you even know how to read jazzlau , stop posting assumptions.

"Friends of the man said he was operating the business which his Chinese-born girlfriend opened some years ago with her ex-husband"

Nothing to do with alcohol or targetted at punters.

man was dating the owner, possibly ex husband or someone that did not like him.
