    Boxing 8 horses for a trifecta costs you $336. Boxing 4 is $24. For 100% dividend. Boxing 8 for $70 gives you 21% dividend. Boxing 70 combination @ $1.00 gives you 70 chances @ 4.17%.

Ah same bet. I dug a bit, thought it was close! A total of 8 numbers only in the 70 combos?

Question for the experienced punters. Looking to setup an online betting account with so many options which is best if you do win money how do you withdraw cash for punting or do you need to transfer to your bank account ?

This year’s Cup is so open, you can easily bet on 8 horses and missed the winner.

    Very though!

Go to racenet.com.au and see what bookies are offering the best incentives.
I know Bbets had a match to $250 goingT&Cs apply and can all be different

The record payout of a Trifecta for Melbourne Cup was back in 1993 when Vintage Corp won, it paid $61,867!

Since then we have to wait until 2015 when the 100 to 1 Prince of Penzance won and that trifecta paid $26,045

Big difference in the First 4 paid out though: $185k in NSW TAB but $307K in Super TAB.

But in recent years the average paid out of the Cup Trifecta is around $2,500:

Last four years since the Prince:

    $2,953 (Vow and Declare)
    $2,479 (Cross Counter)
    $3,025 (Rekindling)
    $1,541 (Almandin)

So I suppose based on the paid out above, many punters have got it right. Just a matter of how much you are going to bet and what do you get in return ?

Thank you. Hoping for plenty of outsiders to boost the trifecta

    It's Melbourne Cup time again.

This year the Cup is very open and not easy to pick the winner let alone the Trifecta, but nothing is gonna to stop us having a punt, right ?

So here it is, my pick for the 8 horses boxed trifecta, it will cost $168 for a 50%, and you can invest another $168 for a 10% on the First 4:

    1. Anthony Van Dyck $8.00 - we all know top weight don't win the Cup these days but this is one serious race horse, he carried the 58.5kg and ran a close second to Verry Elleegant in the Caulfield Cup after drawing the car park. This time he draws 3 and on a good track. He can probably improve a few lengths, not sure about the other runners.

    4. Master of Reality $20.00 - the knock out horse ! ran a close second to V&D last year (which momentarily ruined my trifecta !) but was relegated to 4th !! every chance he can do a Fiorente and come back to win it this year. And recent form is very good.

    5. Sir Dragonet $10.00 - Cox Plate winner, untried in two miles, but he is by Camelot and also has Sadlers Wells on his dam side, so I am betting he can stay rather than not. Bossy up.

    12. Prince of Arran $11.00 - he is becoming the new Red Cadeaux with two placings in the past two cups. He was third up the previous two years and he actually did a better job the run before the cup in order to qualify, this year he has already qualified so second up in the Cup, may be third time lucky ? draw barrier 1 with a lady jockey, and we all knew what happened last time when a girl was riding a Prince from barrier 1 in the Cup ! if there is ever an omen tip !!

    13. Surprised Baby $8.50 - he had the best run last year coming from last on the turn, but we have to wait 12 months for the redemption, this is it ? Craig Williams jumped off last year's winner to ride him, may be lighting will strike twice on Willo ?

    15. Russian Camelot - $12.00 They all talk about Northern Hemisphere breed 3 years old in the Cup (won in 2017 and 2018 !), well he is one too and he already won a SA Derby and placed in the Cox Plate last time. Best of the local hopes.

    18. Ashrun - $23.00 - Won the Hotham to gain a start, from the same connection as Protectionist, can stay the distance, rock hard fit, dropped from 61kg on Saturday to 53, if he backs up, he's very hard to beat.

    21. Tiger Moth - $7.50 fav. the other NH 3 year old and the favourite, and has the service of the most in form Cup jockey in Kerrin who just won his third Everest a couple of weeks ago and sometimes we just have to follow the hot shot Jockey. barrier 23 is a concern but he only has 52.5kg !

And it broke my heart that I have to leave our Verry Elleegant !! I must declared that I have a Cups double going with VE, if she wins, I'll collect $2K, but without the rain, I think she will be a lot less competitive. But you can bet them all.

    So, this year's Cup Trifecta numbers are: 1, 4, 5, 12, 13, 15, 18, 21 !!

Good luck to us all !

Not a big fan of horse racing but since it's the Melbourne cup, might put on a small bet since everyone is hyped about it.

Good luck boys, May the racing gods bless us with a downpour of punting money!

Couldn't sleep last night keep thinking about Verry Elleegant !!

Have been following her for so long and recently had a big win at the Caulfield Cup, I will be kicking myself if she runs into the top three, so I have to place 3 more insurance bets:

    No. 7 VE to win with 1, 4, 5, 12, 13, 15, 18, 21 to run second and third $28 for 50%

    Then 1, 4, 5, 12, 13, 15, 18, 21 to win, 7 second and 1, 4, 5, 12, 13, 15, 18, 21 to run third, $14 for 25%

    Then 1, 4, 5, 12, 13, 15, 18, 21 run 1st and 2nd and 7 to run third, $14 for 25%

Total $56.00 for a peace of mind !!

Good luck everyone, may we all have a winning bet/s today.

    Cheers

I had Twilght Payment in my Trifecta but to place. Backed the horse that broke down. I have a habit of doing that. Also had Russian Camelot but he didn't quite run it out.

Shittiest race to bet on all year. Still up on the day though and a couple of good chances to come.

    Good morning Queensland!

Congratulations on the female Maroons beating the Blues chicks for the first time in 6 years.

More Queenslanders are on the Sporting front this week: Cameron Smith is in a five ways tie for the lead in -9 going into the final round tonight at the US Master . Currently at 15-1 to win the title. Could he be the only second Australian to wear the Green jacket ? After drought breaking win by the “Big Queenslander” Adam Scott (although he was born in Adelaide)

Then on Wednesday night we have the SOO decider up at Suncorp. Can the Maroons stop the Blues winning three in a row ? They are $2.85 H2H.

A Queensland double with a boost is $51.52!

    Go Queenslanders !!

Disregarding the home ground advantage tonight, I think NSW are just too good. Same game Multi......

    NSW -7.5.
    Total Score +40.5.
Jack Wighton to score a try.
    2nd Half highest scoring half.

    Odds $11.00
