Heard it mentioned during a news break on the radio this morning that on Sunday, the boys in blue arrested a female pimp with 46 mobiles used for prostitution related purposes. Finally they may have actually made a worthwhile bust, instead of targeting the shops and girls that are not doing anyone any harm. Private is legal, but they MUST be private, only working for themselves, if they have someone organising them, it's Illegal unless in a Licensed Brothel.
The easiest way to spot if they are illegal or not, is to text them, if they text back with a different number, then i wouldn't trust them. (you text the Pimp, she texts the WL, the WL then texts you to organise)
