I've been watching the show for a while.It is good for a laugh, if nothing else.
As an aussie male, my general opinion so far has been that:
1) Guys come on the show because they don't have the social skills to get a date normally. Fortunately most of the girls see this and avoid them
2) The girls are either too well educated (lots of Post-Masters and PhDs) to pick dumb guys, or have so many hangups from past relationships, they are scared of getting into another one.
I would love to see the full 80 minute version with sub-titles, I can I am missing out on a lot of interesting dialogue.

I think as the show becoming very popular the quality or calibre of the girls and male contestants have increased and they do get a lot of high profile contestants coming on to the show and many guys actually come on for specific girls !!
And I think the entertainment value for me - apart from watching some of the hot girls - is to see who will eventually get one of the hot hot hot girl or one of those who seems to be very smart and really hard to catch ! if you know what I mean.
By the way, this is only a Dating show, the successful guy will take away a girl for date !! and take it from there - they are not obliged to actually get married after the show !
