Some of those Uni girls (especially the hippy ones) aren't the most hygienic now. Talking from personal experience back in the day too.
Here is the original article associated with the cover
Here is the editors' response to the censorship
And of course here are the vaginas:
Not enough shaven havens there, the quest continues for Sextus!!

I guess it is only a matter of time before they do cocks and arseholes!
Can you imagine all the guys trying to match the girls to the vages...

Note that this is not a uni paper being crushed by 'the man'; they censored themselves. Initially, a decision was made to censor the cover with black bars to help mitigate any legal issues, but when it was found that the black bars still left little to nothing to the imagination, they made the decision to pull it from stands.
What they were worried about relates to the publication of unclassified material which would offend a "reasonable person". Make of that what you will.

This article shows one of the girls who volnteered to be photgraphed. Can anybody guess which one belongs to her?
When I went to UNSW in the 70's, yes I am that old, and even though I was there I remember some things. The Uni magazine Tharunka was part of the war against censorship they published plenty of confronting and pornographic images in those days. This is yet another example where lawyers have restricted what we can and can't do through the fear of litigation. This was the reason the page was pulled, the student union couldn't afford to be involved in a legal battle. Bring back Geoffrey Robertson and the boys from Oz magazine.
Looks like we maybe returning to the Victorian era.
Quick put some skirts on the pianoforte's legs.
