The Blue Mountains is still one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sydney , almost All Asian groups would have a day tour up the mountain which includes the Featherdale park as well.
And from memory, quite a lot of good restaurants in the mountains too!
No Macca's in Katoomba. Locals are very discerning about the quality of food there (although I think there is a Hungry Jacks in the theatre. A couple of good pie shops though.
Might be a great place for tourists, but I gotta agree with Nocturnalman, you wouldn't want to live in Katoomba.
I haven't been to Katoomba in a few years, but used to go up there every month or so in my previous job. The locals certainly are a "unique" bunch, not many of them look like punters to me, but what the hell do I know.
Always used to feel sorry for the tourists who had travelled a couple of hours to get there, and when the bus pulled up at Echo Point, you couldn't see shit because of the fog.
