Milk and bread does the trick usually

While we are wishing our teams luck (haven't read the OPs post but I hope it is positive) then I would like to wish the ladies of the Hockey Team best of luck in their Gold Medal match on Sunday too

They're in with a great chance if they have a highly skilled person on the right-wing.

The left-wing is not useless, maybe just a little inefficient, and a little bit of a modicum.

Well if Australia does defeat Chile and Spain and Netherlands end up with a draw, then Australia might actually stand some chance to make it through the group stage.

That being said, I really doubt if the first condition can be met...

We did draw 0-0 with Chile back in the 1974 World Cup in Germany - 40 years later, can we do it again ??

I reckon Australia will win, they'll rise to the occasion and win 3 - 1.

A new trick from the referee !

He has a spray bottle to mark the 10 yards !

It was a great game of football, Cahill's second goal disallowed for being one foot off-side,
the ref was obviously a stickler for accuracy (what with is spray can for the ten yards mark).
But for me, the Chilean goalkeeper deserves man of the match for a quality 90 minute performance,
and a fabulous save from Bresciano - a truly magnificent save.

Nevermind, it was an uplifting performance from a young Australian team.
Just need to avoid conceding two goals in the first fifteen minutes.

Strange things could happen in this particular group - look what the Dutch have already done to Spain.
There's still a long way to go for the Australian team.

You are a good poet but a bad predictor of sporting results!

I think we were very unlucky not to have at least got a draw from this game !

For the line ball decision that disallowed Cahill's second header, perhaps we should have got a penalty for all the faults and shirt pulling everytime Timmy got the ball!

I think we are one or two genuine strikers down to be competitive , if only Kennedy and Robbie are in Brazil as well !

If it wasn't for the nervous start, Australia could have very well won that one.
I agree we could to with some good strikers. Most of the chances came from crosses rather that direct shots on goal.
